Sadly, I think he’ll endorse Cornyn. This really will suck but it looks like that’s where it’s headed and that rino freak thune is advocating this to him

I suspect Trump would have backed Paxton against that jackass Crockett, but will back Cornyn against Reverend Monsignor Talarico.

I’ll be not voting for Cornyn.

I’ve known him for 31 years. He’s a complete POS.

Bull! The Establishment oligarchs are trying to get Trump to help protect Cornyn.

74 years old and has been a Senator for 24 years. Wants an even 30 when he’ll be 80!

Should have retired but didn’t.

If Trump endorses Cornyn it will be the deal knell of MAGA.

No way in hell should any true MAGA supporter be voting for Cornhole. /spit

Hey Donny-Boy!!!

Stay out of it. This is for the people of Texas to decide.

PDJT should deal his endorsement for a vote on the SAVE Act or, enforce the talking filibuster.

The Democrats who pushed Cornball across the finish line last night will not be voting Republican in the general election. Very frustrating situation in Texas that could easily be solved if more damned conservatives would get off their butts and vote in the primary.

And as expected — Wesley Hunt had zero chance. His purpose was to siphon off anti-Cornball votes from Paxton.

I get it. Free Republic is no fan of Cornyn. I’m not either.

If I were a Texan, my heart would say Paxton and my head would say Cornyn. I hate to say that - but most important is keeping the seat in GOP hands.

If we were facing Crockett as the Dem nominee, I’d go with Paxton. But since it’s Talarico, I’d unwillingly go with Cornyn.

I’m invoking the Buckley Rule here.

Wesley Hunt should have dropped out of the race weeks ago.
I get that he is fully invested in winning, but the prospects remain low. Meanwhile, a split GOP vote equals Cornyn remaining where he is.

Trump really needs to stay out of this - the man’s ability to endorse the wrong candidates remains unmatched. I voted for Paxton yesterday and will vote for him again in the runoff - Cornyn will just repay Trump’s endorsement by stabbing him in the back at the first opportunity. In this case, Trump’s base knows what’s better for Trump than Trump does.

Cornyn has said he wants another term to fix immigration. Considering the only thing wrong with our immigration system, as it has been abused by our government, I’m not voting for a fix. I have zero doubt if there is a Democrat president Cornyn will work with Democrats to push through honesty.

If he backs Cornyn it will be not only extremely disappointing but a very stupid move on Trump’s part. Cornyn may promise now to vote Trump’s way but he will be lying.

Thune tells me Cornyn “had a great night”

Trump needs to stop listening to Thune. Cornyn only finished one percent ahead of Paxton. For the life of me, I don't know why Paxton didn't just run away with this. Nobody I know in Texas supports Cornyn.

I’m fine with this as long as he doesn’t endorse that do-nothing creep Cornyn.

Cornyn??? Seriously??? The only time he came alive is when he saw his chances of getting relelected slipping away. The GOP wasted almost 60 million dollars to fund a campaign , that will only see a run off. That in self is criminal!

Guaranteed he will pick Cornyn. His track record with endorsements is terrible.

I really wish he would endorse Paxton.

Cornyn is not a true base supporter.

I honestly think Cornyn might lose the run off in May even with a Trump endorsement. As Texans we know how wish washy Cornyn is. Paxton is true red conservative.

An interesting angle that any administration officials looking at this thread should consider:

If Ted Cruz is appointed to the Supreme Court— a high possibility, it might be possible to tell the loser of this appointment that Abbott will appoint you to the remaining Cruz term. The might mollify all parties.

This would require a conversation with Governor Abbott but I think that deal could probably be struck.

He needs to endorse Paxton. Yes, it will piss the RINOs off. Too bad. The way you break their grip on power is by removing them.

Bag Cornyn. Bag Cassidy. We already took care of Tillis. The Turtle will be out soon. That’s certainly not all of them, but that’s a big chunk of the worst of the worst gone from the Senate. That needs to be our top priority this election cycle.
