The average score was around 1000 in mid 80s.
Why did they celebrate scores of 800? That seems a bit low.
Many years ago, I remember reading that way back when the first SAT was designed, the folks behind it want to basically make an IQ test with a different name but an easily decoded scoring system, so that a combined 1000 would be equivalent to a 100 IQ, a person of average intelligence.... while an 800 would be an analogous to an idiot with a 80 IQ and a 1600 would be a genius with a 160 IQ. On that basis, it seems crazy that the Old Dominion was thrilled with 800 SAT scores.
As I understand it, though, the test has changed over the years, and is much less of a raw “intelligence” test that measures aptitude and more of an “achievement” test that measures academic preparation. So modern SAT scores have much less correlation with IQ.

So the governor of California just went on the record to say he was illiterate. Like WTF??!!? Never mind the pandering. This admission, along with his history of poor fiscal judgment, should disqualify him to run for office anywhere.

I don’t hear much about dyslexia in the last few years. I have been wondering how dyslexic people are communicating on social media.

He said that when Newsom started his podcasts, his first guest was Charlie Kirk, and his second guest was Michael Savage. He said that Newsom had a lot of notes that he was ... reading.
