As others have stated, Vonn is the one who reprehensibly and ungratefully injected her putrid politics into it. She simply couldn’t resist it, due to her celebrity status.

If she hadn’t shot off her mouth overseas in foreign countries about this country so many of us love and appreciate, and which has done so much for us, I might have supported her, as many others might have as well.

But she did denigrate our country while overseas. While I try not to take satisfaction in the misfortune of other people, I take grim note of the irony of her failure. Even then, she will get all the kudos about the danger she faced, and they won’t mention she did it all for her own advancement, not the elevation of the United States on a world stage.

Lindsey Vonn is Megan Rapinoe with a prettier face. But she will get her fame for being so “tough” and she will bank on that until the suckers run out.

If she were a team player, she would have stepped aside to let a younger athlete compete. But she didn’t, and she will take that to the bank until her good looks desert her.

But Lindsey Vonn doesn’t need to worry-there are plenty of corporations trying to milk the female superwoman market, and they would have done the same with Megan Rapinoe, except Rapinoe is wholly unattractive both physically and personally. So she can and will make a lot of money.

They will do all kinds of puff pieces on her, talk about how bold and strong she was, and present her as a role model, because they still want to push the “women need role models” crap, even though they have had role models aplenty for decades, and always have. They just want HER ilk as a “role model”.

I will always see her in the same light I have always seen Jane Fonda. Oh, she will be wealthy and comfortable, and will always have lemmings of all types fawning over her.

But to me and many others who won’t forget, she will be Jane Fonda.

Lindsey Vonn: I won’t be representing US President at Winter Olympics

St Moritz, Switzerland (CNN)A number of US athletes have spoken out against Donald Trump during his presidency — and skier Lindsey Vonn has become the latest to have her say. Targeting Olympic gold at February’s Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Vonn is in St. Moritz, Switzerland, where she spoke passionately about what it means to compete for the US ski team. “Well I hope to represent the people of the United States, not the president,” Vonn told CNN’s Alpine Edge.

But she did denigrate our country while overseas.

Bullshit, when did she do that? The only controversial statement she made, which offended the perpetually offended conservatives, was when she was asked why she didn't go to the White House to meet the president.

Her response was, she represented the country, not the president.

If she were a team player, she would have stepped aside to let a younger athlete compete

Step away from what? You're just another clueless idiot.

Lets get down to the facts. Saying that Vonn shouldn't be racing in the Olympics, you're clearly unaware that Vonn is currently the best women's downhill racer in the world.

Out of the 7 FISA world cup races this season, Von has 3 first place finishes, 1 second place and 1 third place. She leads the World Cup standing in the downhill with 400 points, followed by Emma Aicher (GER) with 256 and Kira Weidle-Winkelmann (GER) with 232.

As for her ACL injury, it was a rupture, not a tear, and easily reinforced with a knee brace. It had no effect on her performance, as evidenced by Friday's training run where she had the 11th fastest time, then on Saturday, the final training run, she had the 3rd fastest time.

As for the fall itself, watch the video in slow motion. At the 4th gate, her ski pole clearly caught the gate, pulling her backwards right before the critical jump and curve. It had nothing to do with her ACL injury.........

Get out of your perpetually offended political bubble and enjoy life........Sheesh!
