WATCH: Washington Mom Confronts 16-Year-Old Son Skipping School for Anti-ICE Protest; He Refuses to Get into Car Claiming School Allows it – “It’s My Right!”

A Washington state mother captured on video the moment she confronted her 16-year-old son, who ditched class to join an anti-ICE protest, and his refusal to get into her vehicle, claiming that the protest was school-sanctioned.

The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows the frustrated mom, Rachel, pulling up to the protest site and ordering her son to get in the car, only for him to refuse, insisting it’s his “right” because the school permitted it.

In the footage, the mother can be heard saying, “You’re not skipping school for this ----. Get in the car.”

Her son retorts, “No, it is my right,” before walking away.

The mother warns him, “It is not when you are 16. Get in the car right now,” and threatens to call the police, noting that he’s truancy bound.

The boy remains defiant, claiming the school rules allow it. It is unclear if she ever managed to get him into the car.

WATCH:

Rachel, who went by Miss Squatch on Instagram, has deleted her profile since the incident went viral.

The incident unfolded amid student walkouts all over the nation in protest of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations.

These student walkouts are part of the “National Shutdown” movement, which began on January 30, calling for Americans to skip work, school, and shopping in protest.

Similar incidents have erupted across Washington, with parents pulling their children from schools over anti-ICE walkouts.

In Auburn, one mom yanked her 7th-grade daughter from Olympic Middle School after students were allowed to disrupt traffic in protest.

A Washington father also removed his son from school, claiming students were pressured to participate.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, a mother in Nebraska is also blaming her child’s high school after the student was struck by a vehicle during an anti-ICE walkout.

The mother should take a whole bunch of her sons items that he values, bag it up, and take it to a shelter. Drag him along for the fun.

He wants to support illegal alien invaders taking from others, let him lose his own stuff.

Except the kid that was out of school at the protest charged the vehicle to block it and found out that wasn’t such a good idea.

Maybe if she spent less time recording her family’s private life and exposing it to strangers, and focused more on raising her kid, she wouldn’t have this problem

The mom should just stop paying for the kids phone and make him walk to school (and no driving the car).

This problem likely started a decade or so ago, mom likely lost or gave up control/training him up, when he was a young child.

It was hilarious.
A very plump (blimp comes to mind) girl ran out in front of a pick-up truck and bounced off of the bumper/hood.
She only had a couple of scratches and bruises.

“If I was in public school now, damn right I would take any excuse to walk out of those child prisons”

Cut class and get credits for it too. Back in my day I would have graduated with honors for all the crdits I would have received.

Are the kids bribed with (Soros and/or taxpayer) money, too, or is skipping school without school penalty a sufficient inducement for a 16-year old?

It’s obvious the schools today are nothing but Communist indoctrination centers. Federal funding needs to be pulled and given to the parents who can obtain the right private education for their kids.

When I was in school, we had to have our parents sign a consent form to let the school take us off-premisis for field trips.

These days, schools refuse to tell parents when their children are off property.

They are in no legal trouble. The judiciary is totally under leftist control. They would just ignore any complaints and charges.

I was homeschooled and didn’t rebel, sass, act up or mess up at 16, or at 6, or at any other age.
The Lord gave me parents too sensible to put me in public school.
He gave me less patience than I might have, for people who warehouse their children in 12 years of day care, for the sake of financial convenience. For their careers, their unnecessary debts, or whatever else their child’s absence from home does for them.
Kids need nourishment. Not “whatever.” Whatever’s taught, whatever’s on the school lunch menu, these parents don’t inquire, they don’t know or care.
They are more mindful of their portfolios, than of their children. How are the kids doing? Can they read, can they reason?
At 16, a child has been out on his own for ten years, mentally, intellectually, socially, and every which way. Now it’s up to chance, and the grace of God.
“Get in the car” is too little, too late.

The Good Lord gave us teenagers so that we wouldn’t mind when our children moved out on their own.

It’s why teenagers need to be leashed because they are like dogs they will stray with the any herd.

In Oregon it’s against the law to use school resources to advocate a political position.

I want to see teachers and school districts sued!

Any logical reading of the law says the schools who put children out to riot against THE LAW, have BROKEN THE LAW!

AI Overview

+10
Yes, it is illegal in Oregon for public schools, school districts, and their employees to use public resources to advocate for or against political candidates or ballot measures.
Under Oregon Revised Statute ORS 260.432, school districts are prohibited from using public funds, equipment, supplies, or staff time to promote or oppose political positions.
