I have called for the full release of the Epstein files.
I have provided a sworn statement of what I know. And just this week, I’ve agreed to appear in person before the committee. But it’s still not enough for Republicans on the House Oversight Committee.
Now, Chairman Comer says he wants cameras, but only behind closed doors. Who benefits from this arrangement? It’s not Epstein’s victims, who deserve justice. Not the public, who deserve the truth. It serves only partisan interests. This is not fact-finding, it’s pure politics.
I will not sit idly as they use me as a prop in a closed-door kangaroo court by a Republican Party running scared. If they want answers, let’s stop the games & do this the right way: in a public hearing, where the American people can see for themselves what this is really about.

The point being to get them both on record, under oath, before they know what the other said. If Bill goes first publicly, Hill will know how to tailor her testimony.
After they both go on record, then release the video and transcripts and if they still want a public hearing, fine.
If they can’t sequester one while the other gives testimony, publicly, then how could they keep them apart between their respective depositions given privately?
Either they can force those conditions in either mode of testimony or they can’t force them in either.
His plan is to turn it into a circus. That’s what the commies always do and Bill Clinton is and has always been a libertine and a commie.
All Bill will have is his memory before she goes in. If it was a live open hearing they could replay it all night on C-SPAN before she goes.
But I guess you won’t concede the point and that’s fine.

Here’s hoping that the portrait of Bill Clinton in a dress is in the room while he is being questioned by the committee. And that somebody asks him about it.
I didn’t know there was a point to be concede. I thought it was simply a discussion of the methodology that can or cannot be employed regarding the depositions.
Good thinking. While my own reason #1 is that they don’t want to attract blockbuster ratings, my reason #2 is just what you’re guessing might happen, they want to edit it. And, I expect they probably will, unfortunately. For all we know, they’ll do multiple takes, from a script. Sorry if that sounds cynical, but why not.
At this point cynicism is the rational position. Unfortunately.
That would be ideal, but not what we're getting. We'll get a video tape, that they'll claim was a single live take. Reserving further judgement till we see what they release.
Roger that, unfortunately. There was a time in my life where I felt Republicans were the honest counter to the evil Democrats. Now, I’m more of an Independent. Hopefully that will swing back, one day, but I’m nobody’s fool, either.
The point, my point, was to get them on the record behind closed doors so you can compare their testimony. And I believe that is Comers plan. Police do that routinely.
You don’t see it that way and that’s fine. We’ll see what happens.
Why bother with them at all? Nothing will happen and any hearings will just devolve in to “orangeman bad”

I can think of at least a three reasons. First, the behind doors testimony cuts down on collaborations. Secondly, the “public” testimony has five minute questioning periods that they can delay and dodge to run out the clock and behind doors I don’t believe they have limitations. And, lastly, the public forum allows the Democrats to showboat and claim “political witchhunt” and political payback.
At this point I wonder if Bill and Hillary are still alive... can’t rule out that these actors have been replaced... with others who can actually read a script. Regardless, whoever is writing the script has lost the plot. The truth be told though the heavens may fall...
You always do a close door on the record deposition. Nothing new about that. That is how you get these bastards on the record and then force them to repeat what they exposed in there own words for the public. Good call.
Yes. Certain questions would be eliminated from being asked in an open hearing. Clinton wants the press to be able to spin in real time his non-answers
