I’ve come to disbelieve most weather forecasts, but I do remember reading sometime in the fall that we were due for a very wet (snowy) winter.

There were icebergs on Lake Superior in June 2014, this year can’t be far behind.

I visited on a January around 3am as a pit stop during a road trip to Chicago.
Yup....looked just like that.
It was really cool we had the whole place to ourselves.

At some point in time, the river ice will break up and everything will come crashing down.
That will be the greater thing to see at the falls.

Picked up a rental car at the airport. At check out the attendant was asked for the ski rack we wanted. He slid open the window of his room and threw the rack out. The rubber on the frame was so stiff it wouldnt hold on to the car. Ran some webbing I had, cinched down through the windows and yanked 4 pairs of skis down on the roof. The defroster couldn’t keep up so we had to stop and scrape the ice off the inside of the windshield after about every ten miles.

Strange that I cannot find YT vids of ice flows over the falls during the annual river break up.

San Jose, CA has been averaging 40 in the morning before dawn and 70s in the afternoon the last two weeks. I absolutely hate this crap. I like me some cold weather.

Somehow Washington State still has normal temps and zero snow. We’ve had awful years too, but this one is a real cream puff.
