Of course, federal immigration law states that hopeful immigrants cannot just arrive on America’s shores, but must file for visas or asylum while still in their own country (or otherwise outside the U.S.), then go through applications and interviews before being allowed to come to the United States.

THIS IS A WINNING ISSUE.
The 23 districts of the US that elected a seat by <5% should be splashed with this AS A DEMOCRAT NORM. The local will deny it, but if that candidate asserts they will vote for a Democrat as Speaker, then this policy IS THEIRS.

What if the government cut off all welfare, medical support, etc.?
