T hose look great. My gut is growing just looking at them. Heh. :-)
The rosemary in front of the house (eastern exposure) is still huge and still perfectly green, despite OK’s recent bitter cold. Didn’t get arou8nd to covering it, so I’m totally mystified as to how it survived, when the 2020/2021 winter killed every bit of the previous rosemary I’d had.
Those look so yummy! I need more calorie free chocolates!

After Monday, the temperatures are actually supposed to break freezing for several days in a row.
I actually have some onion seedlings coming up. I need more shallot seeds but know a place to go for those.
Redbud and Serviceberry grow wild here and both bloom before the dogwoods. I have serviceberry(white flowers) but no redbuds(magenta flowers). I need some redbuds but they’re understory trees which are a hard thing to dig up. Read this morning that you can propagate from green wood cuttings using root hormone. Seeds too of course but good luck beating the birds to them. State Nursery sells them. Just need to set an alarm for Sept 2nd because all the good stuff sells out in a day or two. They allow out of state buyers.
We dropped Mrs. Augie's golf cart off at the Yamaha store Saturday morning so it can get a little bit of TLC while the weather is still cold and nasty. I need to get annual service done on the Kubota zero-turn before the grass starts growing again. Think I'll load it on the trailer after work today and take it to town first thing tomorrow morning.
Howard had another week of being a good boy. He didn't destroy anything and he didn't steal anything off the kitchen counter. He did lose another training collar (2nd one) so I had to buy more of those. I cleaned all of the shredded bedding out of his crate yesterday and gave him a worn-out comforter that would have otherwise been tossed into the garbage. It's still in one piece so I guess he likes it.

No Bake Lemon Cheesecake Pie
Loaded with tart lemon flavor, creamy lemon filling and fresh whipped cream topping.
Ing Crust 1 1/2 cups grah/crumbs 1/3 c sugar 6 tbl unsalted butter melted. Filling 8 oz cream cheese 3.5 oz instant lemon pudding mix 1 ½ c whole milk 1 tbl lemon zest. Topping 1 c cold h/cream 2 tbl conf sugar 1 tea vanilla. 1 tbl lemon zest and lemon slices, raspberries and mint to garnish.
Instructions Graham Cracker Crust Lightly spray a 8–9.5" pie pan. Set aside. Mix grah/crumbs, sugar, butter. Press into prepared pie pan. Use measuring cup to press crust down. Chill 30 min. Filling--beat cream cheese smooth. Add pudding mix and beat creamy and well-combined. Add cold milk, beating in increments until creamy, thick and smooth. (Take short breaks between mixing, do this 2-3 times, to let pudding thicken.) Beat in lemon zest. Pour into prepared pie shell. Chill at least 3 hours to set up firmly. Whipped Cream whip heavy cream to soft peaks. Add sugar and extract and continue whipping to stiff peaks. Spread atop chilled pie. Garnish w/ lemon zest, lemon slices, mint leaves, and raspberries.
Notes--to ensure pudding sets up properly, beat in increments. Add milk all at once, beat it, and let it sit for 1-2 min to thicken then beat it again 2-3 times. This is an optional step, but it helps ensure the pudding sets properly. When beating filling, it is better to over mix it than under mix it so that the pudding dissolves completely. If cream cheese isn’t softened enough, you might end up with a lumpy filling, which still tastes delicious, but doesn’t look good. A store bought graham cracker crust can be used or bake this one at 375 deg 7 min.
