You haven’t heard a word I or others have been saying to you. If a major adversary decides to go to war with us, the first thing they will try to do is blind our command and control and intelligence and surveillance. If one space nuke can do that, and it doesn’t trigger a MAD response because no lives are taken in the attack (well ISS may be up the creek), then what holds them back? Our adversaries don’t do so good in modern conflict because they don’t have our technology but this type of attack would likely level the playing field.

A nuke in space would be equivalent to a Pearl Harbor.

The attackers would have to know such an attack would be effective. It is far from clear it would be. The satellites are projected to communicate with lasers, not radio frequencies. They may well be immune to EMP. The attack would require multiple nukes in space to be effective. Satellite designers already have to worry about solar flare type generated EMP, so there is a good chance the satellites are or would be protected.

No good if you only wipe out 90% of the satellites. The rest are plenty for defense purposes.

Not to mention, you also wipe out a lot of other countries satellites, which kind of makes them hostile to you.

It is not something most planners would be willing to bet the farm on.

You are not making sense..as usual.
If a nuclear war breaks out, first thing any country would do is try and destroy incoming nuclear missiles...by shooting them down if they can.
Will they try to take out comms too?
Yup.
But that doesn't mean they are not going to take out nuclear launch sites on earth if they can. It will be an all out war.

As I posted to marktwain given enough coverage 1 space nuke would be like poking an ice pick through a spider web.

It would have no effect.
