Our adversaries don’t do so good in modern conflict because they don’t have our technology but this type of attack would likely level the playing field.


The attackers would have to know such an attack would be effective. It is far from clear it would be. The satellites are projected to communicate with lasers, not radio frequencies. They may well be immune to EMP. The attack would require multiple nukes in space to be effective. Satellite designers already have to worry about solar flare type generated EMP, so there is a good chance the satellites are or would be protected.

No good if you only wipe out 90% of the satellites. The rest are plenty for defense purposes.

Not to mention, you also wipe out a lot of other countries satellites, which kind of makes them hostile to you.

It is not something most planners would be willing to bet the farm on.

You presume a great many things in your post that are either technically incorrect or politically very dangerous assumptions. Some regimes would be happy to see the world burn if the thought they were at risk at home.
