A gun rights advocate says he has major concerns about the legality of the shooting Minneapolis protester Alex Pretti after watching footage of his killing.
Rob Doar, senior vice president of the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus, analyzed one of the several videos taken of the shooting of Pretti on Saturday and shared his damming opinion that the killing was unwarranted on social media.
Pretti, who was a US and an intensive care nurse who treated critically ill military veterans, was killed shortly after 9am on January 24, after an altercation involving multiple federal officers.
Video footage showed he was wrestled to the ground before one federal agent fired multiple shots into his chest, after which the agents scattered. The Department of Homeland Security told the Daily Mail that the suspect was armed with two magazines, and the gun was later recovered by federal authorities.
However, Doar noted that the gun may have been found moments before the altercation turned deadly: 'This video appears to show an agent remove a firearm from the holster of the 37-Y/O man (Pretti), prior to the shooting.'
'I never see the man touch his firearm, and it looks like he's disarmed before being shot, said the gun rights advocate in another post.
Doar told Star Tribune that he concluded that, 'If Mr. Pretti was disarmed — absent any other evidence of any risk to an officer —I don’t see how deadly force would be justified.'
The footage, which Doar analyzed, shows several masked agents wrestling Pretti while he is on his knees. An officer dressed in a grey coat and cap appears to pull an item from the protestor's waistline, which seems to be a pistol-shaped object; however, no evidence has confirmed the contents of the object at the time of this report.

Exactly, Pretti boy FAFO’d big time.
Has it been verified he bit off the finger of an agent?
THOUSANDS of Trump supporters gathered on Jan 6th, 2021, and NOT ONE had a gun on them...why did he?
Bottom line - if you’re going to make trouble against police, it’s best not to be armed, as you’ll be terribly outnumbered.
He should have butt out of ICEs business and let them do their damn job of arresting ghat illegal alien criminal instead he put his nose in it and tried impeding an arrest next time stay home and butt out
The commies needed something else to protest about since the first shooting people were getting over and protests were dying out
Remember when some gang-banger in Atlantic City got shot by cops 45 times? The jackass who owns Alienware Holsters immediately came out and said it couldn’t possibly justified. Turns out the perp was out of his mind on PCP and showed no ill effect from about the first 12 hits. The grand jury returned a No True bill on all officers involved on all counts.
The press might call you a “gun rights advotate” but when you try to influence public opinion when you weren’t there and you’re going only by accouts in the press, you’re a jackass, too.
Re “.. This is why two things need to happen: Invoke the Insurrection Act, and find out the sources of the money and organizers of this behavior….”
That should’ve happened yesterday… It’s time to stop playing around with these morons and clean their clocks.
Or we can just waste another year…
it looks like he’s disarmed before being shot,
= = =
But the most guns anyone carries is just one, right?
All their outrage goes like this. First, stir up every emotion, crazies posting everywhere (even here!) full-scale narrative barrage.
Then the truth comes out. The guy was on PCP. The lady turned his wheels toward the officer and he ended up in hospital. Pretti fought like a dog and bit a finger off an agent.
Few days later we know the story and the left runs on like no fact ever even happened. Last time there were burnings, Kyle Rittenhouse, “mostly peaceful” and ‘only’ a stolen election as a result. The problem now of course is the organizers are trying to start a color revolution and people are getting killed in small numbers now and very large numbers if they get their way.
I wonder what their take is on the shooting of Ashli Babbett and how consistent they will be...
Different ‘event’: the finger bite off happened later, at a riot protesting the Pretti shooting.
I try not to go there for obvious reasons, but the Drudge Report is really fanning the flames.
Getting people killed is exactly what Gov Walz wants.
There are no circumstances in which a third-party confronting an LEO during an arrest operation, then physically assaulting them, all while carrying a firearm can be considered a good idea.

From what I have heard, the perp was in the process of biting off the finger of the ICE agent.
Should the officer act or not act?
Me, I’d shoot the person chewing off my finger.
There were several people charged with carrying weapons into the Capitol, including loaded guns. I don't think any of those people should have been executed on sight.
That was a completely different incident.
That’s exactly what happened!
You resist strong enough to require six men in all directions - and you’ve called the cavalry down on you.
