It's January 2026, and in steps former Christian music starlet Amy Grant, pining for her younger days of the 60s and 70s cultural revolution with her latest single, "The 6th of January."
Not joking 👇

The lyrics to this thing are the most Boomerslop I've ever read.
References to John Brown and Harper's Ferry, Martin Luther King, Woodstock, and John Lennon's "Imagine."
She says maybe it's the time of year
Or maybe it's the time of man
60's playlist and a beer
I'm suddenly 16 again ...
Hey mister where's the road to Yasgur's farm
He stares at me with pity and alarm
Says that crowd left here long ago
Scattered all to hell and Harper's Ferry
On the 6th of January
This is Amy Grant's message of hatred towards the folks who made her famous.
All of the worst boomer nostalgia incoming...
I hear the words John Lennon said
Asking me to imagine
As I fight this cart with crooked wheels
He's either bent over laughing
Or spinning in his Strawberry Fields ...
And we're driving home and the radio plays
What's goin' on? Marvin Gaye
Is it right on red or left on MLK
I look ahead and realize we've lost our way
So she's a commie now??
We've lost our way? The radical free-love hippies were right? The leftist revolution was the good old days?
Now it's just Trump and J6 playing in her mind.
This will become the definitive holiday song for liberals now, won't it?
Here's a little online reaction for you:

Amy Grant made her career on “religious” music...until being a slut was more fun.
She's listenin to the father of lies.
Add Ken Jennings to the list. Seems he broke the news on Bluesky that he has terminal TDS too. Drat, I used to like Jeopardy!
I saw her in concert once before she married the first time. My best friend had a crush on her, and I like her early music as well. She was good once upon a time. It’s too bad she’s fallen into apostacy.
Hank Hill, a prophet.

Amy has been in rebellion from God for many decades. Her references to Woodstock and the anti-God communist song Imagine just really speaks about who she is.
Need to find God or die stop arguing over what is not important.
Boomer by DOB only.
She’s heard stories of the experiences of the 70’s
Hell, I was barely old enough to be aware of Woodstock.
And not politically aware of MLK, just the social aspect because many of my friends were blacks.
I will be curious to see the Jeopardy ratings in the near future.
I see at least two, sometimes three times a night on KBS, Korean Broadcast Station, doing a commercial for the American Heart Association. I presume this advert is primarily aimed at the larger Korean market in LA, Chicago, NYC and Atlanta. She had open heart surgery.
Exactly.
Put things in Perspective.
Especially if the viewers learn about Kenny’s affliction.
Amy is a disappointing life.
Not news about Jennings. He’s been an off the rails Commie moonbat for years.
Having a good memory and ability to quickly recall trivia facts doesn’t make you more intelligent.
What an absolute crap song from washed up - defected “christian” Grant.
The lyrics— much of them— are in fact plagiarized.
“maybe it’s the time of year
Or maybe it’s the time of man” comes from Joni Mitchell’s writing of her tune “Woodstock” popularized by Crosby, Stills and Nash.
“Well, maybe it’s the time of year or maybe it’s the time of man— and I don’t know who I am but you know life is for learning.
We are stardust, we are billion year old carbon/we are golden and we’ve got to get ourselves back to the Garden” (Eden)”
This is sad revisionist rescue of a long ago artist— for attention. Vince Gill, at least had a career after dropping his wife for this oddball “christian” (who let the curtain drop with stories of sexual excess etc. in her fall from belief).
Too bad, so sad. Joni Mitchell had enough clout to get federal grant money for medical research on her own “condition”— said to be fibers growing out of her skin (in rock n roll lexicaon this would usually be called “coke bugs” crawling under the skin, but whatever). It got a name— and was totally determined to be PSYCHO-somatic (mental illness-delusional parasitosis) called Morgellons disease— people who have sores that they believe contain fibrous material, though likely due to their own scratching. Her fibers from her skin— were determined to be, carpet fibers!(that’s how looney). Since then she’s had a major aneurysm and could not walk at all (Crosby before he died with his transplant liver and cocaine, said she was walking again).
Depression of this sort creates lots of songs- in some people very good work, but in most-— sounds like bad group therapy in a song circle of fat cray cray sobbing screaming cases.
Will say that Joni has excellent publicists and a deep catalogue of music— some good, some excellent, some completely navel watching waste of time. But— way more talent than Grant could ever have hoped to achieve. So now this paen to the halcyon (halcion!) days of the 60s and 70s directed to the insane clown posse pink had brigade of unrestrained “revolutionary” (dare one say dyke aristocracy) of oldie not goodies acting out their lifelong failures by current “active revolution— which no one in the real USA wants. Period.
Can’t stand Grant for this blatant bullcrap. Sorry Vince- love your playing and devotion to your craft but... what a bad choice. What is Grant after—trying to ride a generated wave of lefty female “revolt” ala the Minneapolis complete utter “issue” of false events. Not gonna work. Gen Z is way past this retro shite.
I liked her as a young Christian (she is about my age, I believe), but I lost all respect for her when she left her husband and took another woman’s husband. No one is perfect, of course, but there was never any remorse on her part or his. I don’t know if she was ever a real believer or not, or if she was just thinly talented and latched onto the Christian market because she couldn’t make it in the secular market. Then she became a cheerleader for LGBT, but by then I was no longer a fan anyway.
Didn’t she have a head injury recently? Maybe she’s gone nuts. Or nuttier.
Amy Grant,
The,”Christian”, who dissolved her marriage in an affair with another man?
That Amy Grant?
IIRC, she hosted her daughter’s lesbian wedding at her home/farm many years ago. She went off the rails a long time ago.
