HOUSTON — Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is warning Texans to stay alert as mysterious seed packages keep showing up in mailboxes across the state. Since February 2025, the Texas Department of Agriculture has collected 1,101 packs of unsolicited seeds from 109 locations across the state. Officials say the packages, often shipped from overseas, may look harmless but pose serious risks to crops and ecosystems. "At a glance, this might seem like a small problem, but this is serious business," Miller said. "The possible introduction of an invasive species to the state via these seeds poses real risks to Texas families and the agriculture industry. We need everyone to report these packages when they arrive so the contents may be gathered and disposed of properly." The department first learned of the issue last February after a resident in Clute received an unmarked package from China containing unidentified seeds and a liquid substance. TDA quickly issued warnings urging Texans not to handle or plant any seeds from unknown sources. Similar reports have surfaced nationwide, including in Ohio, New Mexico and Alabama. The most recent seed collection effort in Texas took place Dec. 29, 2025.

I think it was concluded back then to be from China.
Maybe (If I remember correctly) it was something that can destroy food crops.
I remember some around here, NW Fla, received some............
I got some a few years ago. They went straight into the wood stove.
Shades of kudzu and our damned government to fight erosion.
I already have an invasive gift from China on my place. Chinese privet. The Chinese tallow trees are a major nuisance along the Gulf Coast.
Not only that, but you won’t believe what happens next.
Kudzu, Popcorn Trees and Asparagus Ferns............
Although, full disclosure, I already hated the Chinese Communists, for some reason these ongoing sabotage ploys bother me a lot.
Whether the prejudice of the West against Chinese people was wrong in the 1800s and early 1900s or not, they are practicing deceitful, lying tactics to ruin America with fentanyl and everything else they can throw at us.
Pretty as Dr. Fu Manchu’s daughter was. Don’t trust her.
If an enemy wanted to ruin our agriculture, why wouldn’t they mix the evil plants in a hydroseeding solution and drive around the countryside spraying it all over ag fields? They could cover thousands of acres with noxious weeds in no time at all. Sending mysterious, unknown and unordered seeds seems like a stupid thing to do with almost no chance of success.
Chinese biowar.
More invasive species or GMO’s that will get into the natural pure strains and corrupt them.
Burn them.
Read the book in the 1960s and saw the movie.
