Secretary of War Pete Hegseth on Monday censured Democrat Senator Mark Kelly and cut his military retirement pay over his ‘seditious’ video urging service members to defy President Trump’s orders.

Mark Kelly is one of the ‘Seditious Six’ Democrat lawmakers who urged members of the military to defy Trump’s orders.

On Monday, Hegseth announced he is moving to demote Kelly and cut his military pension, but stopped short of a court-martial.

Have read several articles about this but none stated what grade he was to be reduced to. Unless it is a significant reduction then it is just widow dressing and more beltway BS

I have read through the years that if an Officer is reduced in rank to lower enlisted grade.   Make him a Seaman for sedition.

Milley needs to be prosecuted for sedition first. No one can question his seditious action calling the head of China’s military, promising to warn him (of a non-existing threat)—unconscionable and seditious.

But it won’t stay. Kelly so far has not violated a civilian law or any particular article from the UCMJ as no hearing has been substantiated. So Hegseth is cart/horsing this a little. IF they get him for any criminal violation short of a court marshal, it won’t stay either. An article 15 or any other type of non-Judicial Punishment won’t normally effect his retirement. Seen this before. Deals to be made. You may never see him anymore but they don’t have the pelotas to finish driving the nail.
