Venezuela’s acting leader says ‘Zionist undertones’ marked US capture of Maduro

Venezuela’s acting leader, in an address to the nation on Sunday, said there were “Zionist undertones” to the U.S. military’s capture of President Nicolás Maduro.

Delcy Rodriguez, a vice president under Maduro who is now the interim leader, has demanded the “immediate release” of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, since they were captured by U.S. forces on Saturday. Maduro and Flores were flown to New York City, where they are expected to appear in federal court on drug-trafficking and other charges on Monday.

“Governments around the world are simply shocked that the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is the victim and target of an attack of this nature, which undoubtedly has Zionist undertones,” Rodriguez said in the televised address. “It is truly shameful.”

President Donald Trump doubled down on his assertion that the United States was “in charge” of Venezuela on Sunday night, telling reporters that he demanded “total access” from Rodriguez.

“We need access to the oil and to other things in their country that allow us to rebuild their country,” Trump said.

Rodriguez’s reference to “Zionist” influence echoed past statements by Maduro. The president said that “Zionists” were facilitating Venezuela’s takeover as the United States ramped up its military campaign, including strikes on boats and a naval buildup in the Caribbean Sea, over recent months.

“There are those who want to hand this country over to the devils — you know who, right? The far-right Zionists want to hand this country over to the devils,” Maduro said during a speech in November.

Maduro also blamed “international Zionism” for protests that swept across Venezuela in 2024, after he was accused of stealing the presidential election amid widespread claims of fraud.

Venezuela and Israel have not had formal relations since 2009, when then-President Hugo Chávez cut ties, citing Israel’s conduct during its offensive in Gaza that year. Maduro, like Chavez, is deeply critical of Israel and supportive of Palestinians.

Israeli officials have not publicly responded to Rodriguez’s claim about “Zionist undertones,” but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu celebrated Maduro’s ouster without naming him on Saturday.

“Congratulations, President @realDonaldTrump for your bold and historic leadership on behalf of freedom and justice. I salute your decisive resolve and the brilliant action of your brave soldiers,” Netanyahu said on X.

Foreign Minister Gideon Saar also praised the U.S. action and said that “Israel stands alongside the freedom-loving Venezuelan people, who have suffered under Maduro’s illegal tyranny.”

Venezuela’s official Jewish community has not yet commented on the operation to remove Maduro. Some 3,000 to 5,000 Jews live in the country, down from a height of about 25,000 in the 1990s. Maduro’s 12-year reign was marked by a protracted economic collapse, exacerbated by U.S. oil sanctions, that drove an exodus of 7.7 million Venezuelans.

The Jewish Democratic Council of America condemned Trump’s actions and attempts to “create regime change” in a statement on Saturday.

“For the overwhelming majority of Jewish American voters, maintaining our democracy is the number one policy priority,” said the group. “The American people do not want — nor did they vote for — unauthorized war with Venezuela, especially not one that circumvents the U.S. Constitution.”

This is not over. It is only beginning. Maduro’s generals still control the country. This is why we can’t just put the “duly elected” Gonzalez and Machado in the palace, while Maduro’s people still have all the guns. This is going to be a process.

We still have a blockade, we still have them blocked from shipping drugs and oil. I am sure there are conversations going on we aren’t hearing about. Plus if that $50 million was paid out the recipients need to talk tough to preserve any deniability.

I am hoping and believing that they had a plan for the day after.

A side note, Trump has effectively cut off the oil to Cuba, which is teetering on the edge of complete collapse.

If 'Zionist devils' doesn't stick to the wall, try 'racist gringos'. If that doesn't stick to the wall, try 'poor hating capitalists'. If that doesn't stick to the wall ....

The sad thing is that there are (legal) Americans who defend the Maduro's of this world. The dem party and dem corporate media are indeed sick !!!

This scripture sums up far too many lost Americans: "Isaiah 5:20 states, "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter." This verse warns against the moral confusion of labeling wrong as right and vice versa.

Perhaps President Trump can have a stenciled Star Of David applied to all Hellfire missiles so Delcy Rodriguez can feel better when he leaves office.

Trump is letting her "play" a part just for appearances' sake.

Trump said yesterday, "We will run the country until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition." And, "We can't take a chance that someone else takes over Venezuela who doesn't have the interests of Venezuelans in mind." Source

IIRC, Trump’s explicit warned that she would “pay a very big price, probably bigger than Maduro” if she failed to cooperate fully. I heard elsewhere that she’s already backtracking on this Zionist undertone statement.

They dont have a plan.

Didnt heard much about the narco terrorism from president meglomaniac after this successful operation did we.

But, he admitted that he wanted that oil. But yesterday, little Marco Rubio claimed we did not need that oil.
So which is it?

Here is what happened, explained by a young journalist who still has access on Venezuela.

Maduro was beginning to move to take over factions within country who control certain operations-generals which one controls mines, the other ag..etc. and yes, some who have their fingers into the drug routes operated by the columbian cartels that ran through Venezuela.
So..the vp, who is the president and who is the puppet head of these controlling factions, had to get Maduro out. They used the US military to do that. Now do you understand why Maduro had Cuban security? Because he knew that the controlling factions were after him.
Youve seen the news that JP Morgan has agreed to finace a silver smelter to be built in Venezuela. The faction that controls that industry will be paid by us taxpayers, for protection of that plant so they can make trillions off it.

Its a lie. All of it. They’ll send our boys and gurls into a nightmare. Those factions that wont go along will blend into tge woodwork, come out and sabotage and kill..just like in Vietnam. There is an estimated 20 to 30 thousand Colombian militia now in country, just waiting. There is no reasonable estimation of Brazilion militia that have moved into Venezuela.

We had control over Saigon and a few other cities in Vietnam during that conflict. And we lost. I was in Laos, they virtually carpet bombed the whole of Laos, and lost.

Venezuela, is about the size of France, Germany and Austria combined. Is largely triple canopy jungle, mountainous, and sawmp.
In Nicaragua, when we were down there, the local miltia relied heavily on nature to do its work. Animals like the howler monkey would alert those militia of movement WAY, before and they’d react. Those locals know how to move among those animals without setting them off. Snakes, like in vietnam where Kraits would crawl into men sleeping in their beds and bite. That bite felt much like a minor bug bite untill the venom would begin taking hold. Boys died fully aware till the point of death because that venom paralized.

That is basically what will be faced in Venezuela if president meglomaniac decides to send in troops.

Near as I can tell, “intifada” and “bolivarian revolution” are the same thing.

.......Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.......

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simón_Bolívar

......[Simon] Bolívar is the preeminent symbol of Latin America and the focus of what could seem almost unrivaled posthumous attention, seen from his own times forward as a force now for liberalism or other forms of modernity, now for old regime values and authoritarianism, now for a mix of the two, with the debate over the meaning of his figure having no end in sight.
Robert T. Conn, Bolívar’s Afterlife in the Americas........

.... In the English-speaking world, Bolívar is known as Latin America’s George Washington.....

Bolivar is an ambiguous figure. But the Venezuelan dictatorship is by no means his legitimate successor!

It has been my experience that reminding people later of things they said earlier that turned out to be wrong does not result in a Perry Mason-like confession of “I didn’t predict that well!” and instead, engenders a “Drive-By-Media” attitude of simply ignoring it and pretending the wrong opinion was never expressed in the first place.

The Media has learned this works well for them. The suckers that are born every minute are always receptive to the next “thing” and can’t be bothered to look back at the previous statements that didn’t pan out.
