Republicans are demanding accountability over the Minnesota fraud scandal, accusing state Democrats of failing to prevent billions of dollars in taxpayer funds from being stolen. A Florida lawmaker is now calling for aggressive federal action, comparing the alleged fraud to "organized crime."
"This is what the mafia does. They steal, they lie, they cheat," Rep. Mike Haridopolos, R-Fla., said on "Fox News Live" Thursday.
"The federal government has to use the full powers that we used to destroy the mafia back in the 1960s. Nothing short of it," he added.
Federal authorities have launched an operation in Minnesota to "identify, arrest, and remove criminals who are defrauding the American people," according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Prosecutors accuse Minnesota of widespread fraud involving child care and other social services, saying losses could reach into the billions.
The Trump administration says it plans to freeze certain federal child care funds until states provide additional verification for the programs. In a post on X, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz accused Trump of playing politics in response to the proposed funding freeze.
"We’ve spent years cracking down on fraudsters. It’s a serious issue — but this has been his plan all along. He’s politicizing the issue to defund programs that help Minnesotans," Walz wrote on Tuesday.

So in WalzoWorld we are to believe President Trump’s “plan all along” was to enlist foreign invader fraudsters to steal billions of American taxpayer dollars? We are to believe what? Somalians came to Mar a Lago and had a sit down with the President and discussed a plan to rip off Americans - THEN when the time is ripe - the trap would be sprung. Just before the 2026 midterms we will send out a conservative YouTuber with a sidekick named “Bob” who will lay the groundwork for fraud exposure. The only downside for the skinny’s is that they will have to take the fall and maybe serve some time in the slammer or even be deported back to Somalia!
Tim Walz is complicit in this fraud.
Every state in the nation needs to evaluate through a database of names with algorithms to account for misspelling of names and addresses to know where our tax dollars are going to support this fraud. Run the names through the databases on dollars that are going to the political donations for the campaigns for the “D”s and the rhino “R”s!
And it's a safe bet that many of them pocket a share of the billions they help the Somalis loot.
Shutting down some fake businesses and Locking up a few street level crininals won't change much - you have to cut off the head of the snake.
Until the high level government criminals are prosecuted and sent to prison the investigations and news stories revealing the corruption won't have much impact.
Anything less than Walz being forced to resign isn't good enough.
