Yes, my wife Elaine passed away in April. It is only the dog Jake and me this holiday.
Not a merry Christmas or a happy new year. Thanks for asking.
Sorry for your loss. The firsts are the worst. Hang in there, you’re not alone.
Prayers for you. God be with you
My heart is with you.
I’m alone tonight since my grown son who lives with me is sick in bed. My husband passed away about 3 years ago and tonight as I was listening to the songs we used to have so much fun listening to together I got kinda weepy. My two daughters are coming tomorrow so I’m busying myself with baking but things just aren’t the same without my husband.
Do you have children or grandchildren that you’ll get to talk to over the holidays?
Sorry for your loss.
I’m alone, sort of. My wife of 58 years is asleep in the next room. But tomorrow we will celebrate with our daughter’ s family, including two of our grandchildren.
Merry Christmas to all FReepers.
RE: my wife Elaine passed away in April.
Truly sorry to hear of your loss. It’s something everyone thinks they can cope with until it actually happens to them.
I’m 3.5 years past losing my dear wife Joy and as someone wrote: “You never really ‘get over’ the loss, you become stronger in carrying that heavy loss on one of your shoulders as you go through life remembering them.” I feel that way.
Prayers up for you to get through this.
May God Bless You and may you find the Love of Christ this Christmas!
John 10:9-13
Hubby passed this last May. No dog or cats. We have our wonderful memories don’t we? I celebrate those.
