Doctor behind notorious Sarco euthanasia pod shows off new 'suicide collar' that kills patients by applying 'pressure' to the neck

It's a fresh Monday morning in the quaint city of Amersfoort in the Netherlands, and a group of elderly guests are listening attentively to the words of an Australian physician.

Dr Philip Nitschke, the first doctor in the world to administer a legal, lethal voluntary injection, and the inventor of the controversial Sarco pod, is presenting his latest gadget.

The Australian-born founder of Exit International, the non-profit that provides guidance on assisted suicide, stirred controversy in 2024 when a woman ended her life using the so-called suicide pod, in apparently the first case of its kind.

But undeterred by the negative press and people repeatedly calling him 'Dr Death' - a nickname he doesn't enjoy - Dr Nitschke is as passionate as ever about expanding access to euthanasia.

The 20 attendees are gathered for one of the 78-year-old's 'Exit workshops' that cover, according to his website, legal issues surrounding euthanasia, the physiology of death, and suicide methods such as 'gases', 'drugs and other substances', 'Swiss option (including discussion of the Sarco)', and 'the new Kairos Kollar'.

It's the Kairos Kollar that Dr Nitschke is live demonstrating to his observant guests, but on a plastic mannequin with silver hair, of course.

It works by putting pressure against the carotid arteries and baroreceptors in the neck, cutting off blood flow to the brain and causing the wearer to lose consciousness before dying.

In a post on X, Dr Nitschke could hardly conceal his excitement for the developing technology: 'The Exit Kairos Kollar, an important development in the assisted dying quest…fast, reliable, drug free..and, importantly, unrestrictable!'

The death workshops tend to be three hours, including a tea and biscuit break as well as an extensive Q&A with the euthanasia expert himself.

The sleeper hold is not a choke hold. That is why agencies that allow their officers to use it have training on how to apply it correctly. Unfortunately, the proper position allows the forearm to be close to the mouth of the subject which can result in a bite. The pressure is applied to the sides of the neck not the throat. Also, the pressure has to be released when the subject loses consciousness, or bad things can happen.

Hell...a properly applied rear naked choke hold will do the same thing.

If he really believed in his product, wouldn’t he self demonstrate?

“Doctors” that work on killing machines outside of government sanctioned execution programs should have their medical license revoked.

What a rip off, posing as his invention.

They are called blood pressure cuffs. I have two of them at my left elbow on the desk currently.

Put them around your neck, hit the button, and shazzam, you go to sleep.

The VA gives them for free!

Can you imagine what sort of sex toys this guy has in his bedroom?

Joking aside.

There really is a “death cult” out there which is a spin off from this modern culture of global over population, euthanasia, LGBTQIA, and feminist abortion rights.

These folks want to push the idea of actively killing someone as being ethical.

I know making value based judgement calls are taboo today, but IMHO these folks are perverts. They have a deformed idea of right and wrong. Frankly, they are dangerous people because their idea of what is right hurts people.

Good God. Euthanasia is the key issue, that it is being allowed.

What I find more bizarre is this strangulation collar. Do they think this up at Euthanistic Cocktail Parties?

WTF. Strangle someone to death to euthanize them? Hell. Why don’t they just use their hands, or...is that too close to what it really is, legalized murder?

Is it me, or wouldn’t it be far better to put a plastic bag over someone’s head, run a plastic tube from a nitrogen tank into the open part of the bag, use a strip of duct tape to seal the bottom, and turn a valve on the tank to introduce pure nitrogen into the bag?

Instantaneous unconsciousness and insensibility, shortly followed by death. I have long advocated using this method to put criminals to death, though I admit to preferring a rope and gallows be used.

These people are unhinged.
