President Donald Trump has not dismissed the possibility of deporting the family of Rahmanullah Lakanwal, the 29-year-old Afghan refugee charged with the ambush murder of a National Guard soldier near the White House.
Speaking to reporters on Thanksgiving, Trump revealed his team is actively reviewing the option, stating, “Well, we’re looking at that right now,” when asked about expelling Lakanwal’s wife and five children from the U.S.
Lakanwal opened fire on two unarmed West Virginia National Guard members patrolling near the White House on Wednesday as part of “Operation DC Safe and Beautiful” to curb rising crime in the capital.
Sarah Beckstrom, a 20-year-old Army specialist shot in the head and chest, succumbed to her injuries on Thanksgiving night after emergency surgery.
Her fellow guardsman, 24-year-old Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, was also wounded but has survived and is recovering, though initial reports described his condition as critical.
A third guardsman intervened, shooting and wounding Lakanwal, who was hospitalized in serious condition before his arrest.
Federal authorities have upgraded charges against Lakanwal to first-degree murder, with U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro vowing to pursue the case aggressively.
Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed that prosecutors will seek the death penalty, emphasizing the “cowardly and barbaric” nature of the attack.
Lakanwal, who entered the U.S. in 2021 under Biden’s chaotic Operation Allies Welcome program after claiming to have assisted the CIA against the Taliban, resettled in Bellingham, Washington.
Trump announced Beckstrom’s death during a Thanksgiving call to military units, praising her as “an incredible person, outstanding in every single way.”
The FBI is investigating the motive, but officials have not yet classified it as terrorism, despite the suspect’s background and the targeted nature of the attack.
President Trump, on the other hand, wasted no time blasting the incident as a “terrorist attack” and pinning the blame squarely on Biden’s failed immigration policies.
In a late-night Thanksgiving post on Truth Social, Trump announced Beckstrom's death and Wolfe's critical status, vowing to "permanently pause migration from all Third World countries" like Afghanistan.
Trump additionally promised to end federal benefits for noncitizens, denaturalize threats, and deport those "non-compatible with Western Civilization."

They will all have to go, along with their mother.
At root, do YOU want God to be fair in treating you?
Do you know what that would mean for you?
**********
I would agree to send them back, but with special protection instituted in their own homeland that they not be deliberately mistreated for what their husband/father brought on himself.
At this point we do not know the whole picture. Is it possible that this fellow has been persuaded to risk his life to faithfully help our forces in combating oppositional Talibaans on the basis of our forces promising without fail to protect and save him from his countrymen's wrath? And did he and his wife have to leave their country or face death their when "we" (Biden's military) did not have the guts as a nation to see it through? Did "we" fail to save, shepherd, and adapt his stay here to find meaning in our society? Or was he our enemy from the get-go?
In his case, we haven't been informed, we don't know. But we ought to find out before agreeing about the steps to be taken, rather than act as if we-all were of the same criminal mind as him and not purveyors of life, liberty, and justice for all within our boundaries, citizens or not.
Keep the family intact...somewhere else.
“LOOKING AT”!?
What is he thinking. Just effing do it already.
Good. Actions have consequences.
Yes, you don’t want any low IQ Afghan aggrieved Muslims around with notions of revenge for their father. Immediately deporting them is the prudent policy.
Deport them!
Deport them all!
Send them to Kabul with his ashes.
.
They should hit the tarmac at Bagram like sacks of wet cement.
One Suicide Bomber & Five future Terrorists - send them home or at least send them to Oregon.
It should be automatic. If a member of your family that was allowed in commits a grievous crime...the whole family gets their visas/green cards/asylum claims/whatever pulled and they’re all gone immediately. No ‘looking at it’. That’s just common sense. I’m sick of being the ‘keeper’ for the world’s refuse.
Makes no sense if he was allowed to return, and THEN OVERSTAY his visa in order to commit the assassination attempt. So his ‘family’ here has no basis for remaining here.
We as a nation fully intend to kill their father and husband. It would be complete insanity to leave them in the country nurturing a blood feud to seek revenge.
Your argument is why we don’t make preachers into national leaders. That loving nurturing feminine compassionate instinct is misguided. It seems like the kind thing to do right now. But what is actually happening is that misguided compassion is simply ensuring the future murder of some innocent five-year-old American out there today…. 15 years from now. Men know sometimes you have to make a hard choice for the well being of your own people.
And then there is the object lesson to consider. Other immigrant families need to learn that they have to take notice when one of the family members is going off the rails.
