I wouldn’t mind a holographic companion to discuss things with. It wouldn’t be something I’d want for a spouse, but to be able to explore my interests to my satisfaction, without my companion tiring of the conversation would be interesting.

This has long been trending in Japan.
Years ago, I saw a YouTube documentary about a Japanese woman who married herself. The wedding was elaborately planned like any other wedding. Dress maker, caterer, wedding guests, etc. Everyone took her seriously.
I saw another YouTube video about a Japanese man who was in a relationship with an anime character. All his discretionary income went to fill his apartment with posters, photos, dolls, clothes, videos, etc. of his favorite anime character (a blue-haired school girl) of whom he professed his love to the camera.
