Following WFLX’s reporting on the so-called “Mamdani Migration”— New York City businesses leaving the city after the mayoral election — new data we obtained shows several companies filing to relocate to Florida.
Mamdani, who was elected as New York City mayor Tuesday, has pledged to increase taxes for corporations and individuals making more than $1 million, a move that sent shock waves through the business community.
The morning after Mamdani’s election victory, Florida business relocation attorney, Chad Cummings, told WPTV he received five to 10 times his usual number of calls from New York companies seeking to move to Florida.
“My phone, and I’m not exaggerating, has literally been ringing off the hook. I have not been able to leave my desk since about 7:30 this morning,” Cummings said. “What we are seeing is really unprecedented.”
Cummings said Wednesday alone, he spoke with nine companies targeting Palm Beach County and three others eyeing Port St. Lucie.
“They are very candid, for the most part, that this is a decision that is driven by the election results in Manhattan and a desire to escape what they perceive to be an oppressive regulatory and tax regime,” Cummings said.
WFLX dug through Florida’s corporate filings and found that in just the past few days, at least 27 New York companies filed to expand operations in Florida, while nine more filed to relocate entirely.

“Not just businesses - New York City’s tax base - “the rich” that Madman Mamdani thinks should not exist - are fleeing as well”
And just like that, they won’t exist, as a going concern in NY anyway. My God our founders were brilliant!
I want to see NYC burn to the ground, with the commies still in it.
Surprise, surprise. Unprecedented cause leads to unprecedented effect.
I think you mean Democrats instead of democrats.
And many will be democrat voters in Florida going forward. Does this make Florida purple? These people vote for people like Mandami and AOC then when they win and start to govern as promised they all move to conservative states and bring their crappy left wing politics with them.
This is a minuscule number.
The exodus of productive individuals and companies will continue. New York’s tax base will shrink but won’t evaporate.Mamdani will implement his unworkable plans and despite tax hikes will run critically short of funds just to maintain existing critical services. Then the real fighting will begin. The Democrats will demand huge Federal subsidies in the name of “fairness and affordability” for New York and their other urban, failing strongholds. The Republicans will of course resist. The cries and shrieks of “racism” will never stop. Things will sure get interesting.
“Not just businesses - New York City’s tax base - “the rich” that Madman Mamdani thinks should not exist - are fleeing as well”
sounds to me like he’s getting his wish ... at least in NYC ...
Hope he taxes Alex Soros's wealth - but Soros is probably set up in Florida like so many other billionaires.
I think this was just over a few days. Election on Nov 4, Article on Nov 7.
No. Bush won Florida by 537 votes in 2000 and then Obama won in 2008 and 2012.
If anything, migration from blue states helped to tilt Florida red.
The joke’s on the rest of the nation.
NYS has lost almost half its House seats over the last 60 years.
Deep State doesn’t care.
It continues to replace makers with takers.
And will continue to hit up federal taxpayers to pay for it.
So run to Florida.
You can evade NYS’ taxmen.
But not the Feds if Pres. Trump can’t stop the giveaway.
And then Deep State will have the last laugh.
Palm Beach County is soliciting businesses to move via the giant electronic billboards in Times Sq.
sinking ship, rats, etc.
They have one ready to go in Dallas Tx. Just flip a switch and it’s ready to go.
Mad-mani will try to force building owners to repurpose vacated and un marketable office spaces into low income housing.
The Left screams: “Tax the rich!” but apparently they don’t realize the rich (top 10% of income earners) already pay 73% of all of the IRS tax collections. At some point, those “rich” people say: “Enough!!”. Mamdani’s new taxes are the straw that broke the camel’s back. Some percentage of those people will leave NYC, making Mamdani look for new people to tax so he can give away “free” stuff. Taken to its full conclusion, NYC will be filled with people expecting free stuff but none will be forthcoming. Then what?
There was a time when Americans were happy working hard to get what they NEEDED but now Americans are angry if they don’t get everything they WANT without working for it!
Actually, Mussolini cracked down hard on the Mafia. And rest assured...there was no organized crime for Hitler to crack down on!😎
UNPRECEDENTED???
SO WAS THE ELECTION OF A SOCIALIST MUSLIM
