Speaking in English, and reaching a US audience directly, he reiterated the Catholic belief that every Christian will ultimately be judged on how they welcomed "the foreigner". In some of his strongest criticism to date of President Donald Trump's administration, the first ever US-born pope also warned that the US bombing of Venezuelan ships, suspected of carrying drugs, risked increasing tensions in the region.

There is a quasi-reductionist school of thought which suggests that one can only truly know the difference between things, with names for each being tokens by which to make reference. 'This' is 'that', and 'this' which is something else is not 'that'.
In making the distinction, then "good" can be declared, and by its opposite, evil as well.
After all. what was the lure for eating from the tree?
“every Christian will ultimately be judged on how they welcomed “the foreigner”.”
Trump married a foreigner. That’s welcoming.
Exactly right.
Nowhere does the Bible require that every invader is allowed to stay or that every criminal is allowed to make unlimited demands on our hospitality and resources.
The US offers a free flight and $1,000 stipend to illegal migrants who voluntarily self-deport.
That is $1,000 per person, so a family of four can receive $4,000.
The US also sends hundreds of millions of dollars per year in aid to Central American countries to help with resettlement of their returning illegal immigrants.
Countries like Honduras, El Salvadore and Colombia also offer resettlement assistance in the form of cash, food vouchers, temporary housing, job assistance and even mental health services.
In Honduras, $4,000 is the median family-of-4 income for 6 months.
The average cost of arresting & deporting illegal migrants is estimated at $17,000 so the free flight, $1,000 stipend and other aid to home countries is far less expensive.
I think fair and humane treatment while returning foreigners is a Biblical requirement, but allowing tens of millions of illegals to invade our country is not.
On a heat map of the world showing immigration, there is only one country in dark blue, vis., the United States.

If the Pope were honest, he would cite us for being so receptive to immigrants.
But the man is holier than thou.
The problem isn’t immigrants; it’s illegal immigrants. And, yes, we should reform our immigration laws so as to promote merit (as Trump proposed during his first administration). But, Popes have no particular authority on such a matter.
Now, let’s be fair. How many wars has the Pope ended recently? Our President has ended, like, seven.
Even when visiting another country, I expect myself to learn basic phrases and at least appear to try to understand their language. I don’t see the effort from foreigners anymore.
Right now the Federal government is shut down because they need 8 senate Democrats to vote on a clean CR, and so far, have only 3, including most notably, PA Sen. Fetterman.
The solution to this problem is to abolish the senate filibuster. which is what Pres. Trump advocates, but some Republicans fear that once abolished, Democrats can use it to pass whatever legislation their hearts imagine the next time they are in the majority.
Sure, we can debate that, but the point is, this is why Republicans seem to accomplish so little, even when in the majority.
You bring up a most interesting point about comparisons, because of the explanation for why the first day is yom echad, Day One (cardinal), not yom rishon, the first day (ordinal)..
... that at the time, there was no other day with which to compare it.
Ah, but then there was a comparison(s), before the Day became “Day One”:
Genesis 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
The serpent was the very first interpreter of God’s word, thus the father of all what snakes around in that family.
I’m not Vatholic, but he was a good man
Is this a bigger issue than killing babies and supporting child sex slavery?
I think not.
Hey asshole, child molestation had nothing to do with the article/story and occurs in all human organizations and not to a greater degree in the catholic church.
You keep your mouth shut about Catholicism you piece of shit. You’ve be warned/advised, ..any way you want to take it.
