He sure did! Rosie the Robot coped an attitude regularly.
The end of every episode showed the computerised dog-walking treadmill being switched out of control, with George yelling for help to be able to get off.

Oddly enough, just last week a robot I had just walked by was hit by a car pulling onto the street from a parking lot. The robot was short about a feet tall and used by the city I work in to determine accessibility of sidewalks and crosswalk.
I heard the hit and turned around to see the car that hit it take off.
