Prince Harry showed off his take on an American accent during a recent podcast appearance.
He said: "This is the most American sentence I could think of: 'I ordered breadsticks with ranch dressing at Applebee's.'" Harry attempted to start, then laughed and asked the host to repeat the sentence.
"That was decent," Hasan commended the Prince. After Harry repeated the host’s second line, “Hey, do you like my Cybertruck?”, Hasan turned to people off camera and said: "You guys out there, you cannot laugh like this. We're having a real thing."
"No, but by the way, the laughter, it's encouraging. Is it encouraging or is it mocking me? I'm not sure," Harry said, adding with an American accent: "Come on, y'all."
Harry has been living in the United States since March 2020. He and wife Meghan Markle moved to California after stepping back as senior members of the royal family. When asked what's the "most American thing" he does now, Harry replied surf. "Is that American or is that Californian?" he mused.

Why would Harry do that? The better question is why would Meghan Markle do that?
The most American thing he could think of was back when he was running around naked in a Vegas hotel with a stripper. Back before he met Meghan and was a regular guy.
Applebee’s is alive and well in select locations. In July I went one in Orlando.

After being stationed in West Germany, I was rotated to Ft. Hood for my last 9 months and in that time I developed a Texas accent and slight drawl. Of course nearly 50 years later I lost it being a native Californian. But living in an area one does tend to pick up the ligua-franca.

Silly stuff, but I think, Brits, Irish,and Aussies are more convincing doing an American accent than Americans are doing one of theirs. At least it’s true of actors. In 20 years in the Queens school I taught in I worked with three Irishmen at various times. Two of them could do a flawless mainstream midwest accent and one did a grest old NYC accent. He taught me to do Irish. He said it was less about how it sounded and more about word placement as Irish English is influenced by the Gaelic. Example ordering breakfast: it’s not I’ll have scrambled and bacon. It’s “It’ll be scrambled and bacon,
I”ll be having”.

Why does anyone interview this 🤡 on anything of importance? They act like he’s some mental health/veterans/social media expert. I seriously doubt his intelligence.

You can say that again! You could tell which street intersection a Philadelphian is from by their accent. UPenn studied it! Out in the central part of PA, a festival of Amish-inspired and country accents are mixed in. Hope you are enjoying it! And the food!
