Mike Johnson is angry today, or at least irritated. Some of his Democratic colleagues “stormed” his office, and he’s talking about what they did: berating a Capitol police officer who was posted to guard the place, tearing down a sign inside the office, and so on. There’s video at that link, if you want to watch Johnson expressing his disgust for this behavior. He’s Mike Johnson, so his outrage cranks all the way up to maybe a three, on a scale of one to ten. He’s a strangely Midwestern Loiusianan.
But this is the thing he’s denouncing: [Video of noisy Democrats entering Mike Johnson's office at link]
Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Pramila Jayapal and that what’s-her-name Debbie Downer person from Oregon are OUTRAGED. Members of Congress are MARCHING against…Congress. Madge from HR is having a sit-in against the marketing department for using too many office supplies, I TOLD YOU TO LAY OFF THE PAPER CLIPS AND WOULD IT KILL YOU TO BREW A NEW POT OF COFFEE WE SHALL OVERCOME. Name something more tedious. It’s pussyhats and bunny boilers all the way down. The substance of their “protest” is meaningless, and I’m not going to bother with it, but go back up to play the video of the march and just listen.
Democrats have perfected the art of anti-persuasion. WE DEMAND THAT YOU wait where are you going DON’T YOU WALK AWAY FROM ME I’M TELLING YOU MY DEMANDS. We’re going to perform joyless diatribes until you submit. When he filed for divorce, the husband of then-Representative Katie Porter said that she used to scratch her arms bloody with her own fingernails, then scream at him: LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO, HOW DARE YOU. The Democratic Party. You scratched my arms with my fingers from across the room, you fascist.
For crying out loud, ignore them. Don’t respond to this at all. Go on with your day like it never happened. Taking the emotional bait is eating the cheese in the mousetrap.
The comment thread to the news video is full of entirely predictable yas-slay-kweening:
Anything that produces a “you go girls!” is performative silliness, and can be ignored. This comment is my favorite, by the way:
Johnson wasn’t there, so they only marched on the oppressor’s receptionist, after which their demands were disregarded, so patriarchal oppression has been dismantled. Okay.
The Democratic Party is developing into something very special, and go look at the slate of winners who are running to replace California Governor Patrick Bateman, starting with the aforementioned arm-scratcher: [Video at link: Katie Porter threatens to cut off CBS News interview]
The art of tactical disengagement offers important tools for not bothering. Just go on with your day. And as for this…
The only correct response is a good breakfast and then maybe a nice hike in the woods. An afternoon nap. Ignore meaningless things.

LOL!
I Like Mike though. I may be in the minority here on FR but I don’t care.
I see no mechanism for the shutdown to end unless polling becomes overwhelming. Probably not enough time has passed yet for good quality polls to be on record.
They are the ‘iron my shirt’ party - desperately seeking something that will fire their base up but they have NOTHING and are so out of touch that they miss every single time.
“You go, girls! “
(snorts with derisive laughter)
Best to keep in mind that polling will have to be overwhelming to counter the intensity of passion largely on both sides, but most particularly on the Democrats side.
I cannot recall prior to this year ever hearing about a primary challenge to Schumer. That’s on the table now and he has no room to maneuver.
In contrast, the GOP has always had the GOPe whose primary goal has been to eliminate the influence of conservatism, defined as what conservatism is — the pursuit of smaller, less intrusive government.
I like Mike too.
“I like Mike”
Be like Mike.
Their berating a capital police officer, reminds me of when the Leftists were attempting to enter certain government buildings and were denied by security. They showed their true colors - threats of getting these security staff workers fired, criminal charges, berating them, and flaunting their titles as if they’re somehow a higher class of citizen.
You learn a lot about people by how they treat other people. Especially the people on the front line.
These are the same elitist self serving bastards that will raise taxes on your family, restrict your rights, and not blink an eye over soldiers lost in battle. It’s worse than not caring, they see others as beneath them and expendable. They’re not fit to serve.
Democrats should join a circus. They are all dysfunctional freaks of nature. And they love to perform like monkeys. /spit
Once again, a writer must be corrected on a point; there is no such thing as the demoCRATIC party. It is the demoCRAT party. THERE IS NOTHING DEMOCRATIC ABOUT THE DEMOCRAT PARTY.
Favorite sentence ever....
Democrats have perfected the art of anti-persuasion.
“THERE IS NOTHING DEMOCRATIC ABOUT THE DEMOCRAT PARTY.”
Say that to one of them sometime.
It’s fun.
L
I sure will, LOL!
I am thinking that this “ends” with spending continuing at the same level, for a while - but mostly going to Trump’s ideas of spending. Projects like “Obamacare” will be starved of nutrients, and die. Schumer will fall, over this, so his exit will be what he deserves.
No Kings will mostly be “No Body”, except for tantruming blue-hairs.
I was initially skeptical, but he has, in my opinion, largely done his job.
He isn’t our problem these days.
Bkmk
CALL IN THE MILITARY!
>> Democrats should join a circus. They are all dysfunctional freaks of nature. And they love to perform like monkeys.
LOL! I like the way you think. Heck, I might even pay for tickets to watch the DemonRat circus when it comes to town!
