I work in tech and work with a lot of Indians. Most of them assimilate very well. They speak better English than the stereotypical call center resource, and they’re very proud to say they live in America.

The bigger problem here is that American resources are substandard by technological education. It’s a sad fact that Americans rank very low in math and science proficiency. This should be starting a conversation about how to bring up the next generation to be competitive with Indian and Chinese students, but instead we’re focusing on our disdain for Indian call center reps and entire teams of Indians developing software for American companies.

I mentor students in high school and college looking to get into technology, specifically cybersecurity, and unfortunately the passion isn’t there. They don’t ask questions relevant to the field, and when pressed on technical knowledge about particular subjects, they aren’t mentally agile enough to answer or even have a conversation to help us to gauge their troubleshooting or engineering capabilities. Anyone can learn to code. If you can’t unravel a complex problem into a number of actionable steps, your critical thinking capabilities are subpar.

We should be focused on making American schools better. This is a multi-generational problem.

Time for Trump to ask the Chamber who they love more: American workers or international workers?

They are not the most educated, American jobs for Americans first.

As for assimilated tell that to the dead family for one of the “assimilated” truck drivers. Ya he was not H1B but puts the lie to the idea of assimilation.

There are 750,000 current H1B holders. H1Bs steal American jobs. Those who defend H1Bs are not MAGA, are not for Americans.

Trump's H1B EO is gaslighting us. It does NOTHING about the 'current' 750,000 H1B holders and gives exceptions to certain categories of many new applications.

The love of money and greed in corporations is why a nation of 350 million has any work visa program.

Make 'Americans' (not Indians) Great Again .

That’s not saying much because they aren’t really assimilating much at all.

Besides, where in the Constitution is the federal government granted power to import foreign workers?

This should be considered treason. The Bush league Republicans strike back....

America is just a marketplace to them. Not a country. Just a slave auction. Anything and everything to make a buck. The almighty dollar is their god and they’ll gladly replace you and flood out Christianity in a sea of foreigners worshipping foreign gods if that’s what it takes to make a buck.

The barbarians were let through the gates and now they are ‘entitled’ to everything inside. And the traitors that opened the gates have too much money to make off of the invaders to care about anyone else.

What a sick bunch of traitors.

Science especially... I mean where else can a science teacher teaches students that a man can give birth? And math...if you say 2+2=5, the math teacher will give you a gold star and say...nice try...if you say it is, it is true...

“MICROSOFT TEALS

“Technology Education and Literacy in Schools (TEALS) is a Microsoft Philanthropies program that builds sustainable CS programs in high schools. We focus on serving students excluded from learning CS because of race, gender, and geography. TEALS helps teachers learn to teach CS by pairing them with industry volunteers and proven curricula to team-teach computer science. Industry volunteers and partner teachers create a ripple effect, directly impacting the students they teach, increasing the likelihood that they will be prepared for the future economy.”
