Halloween decorations at the home of Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch are being heavily criticized after a Facebook post featuring the display was shared.
The decorations depict skeleton ICE agents chasing other skeletons dressed in sombreros and Mexican-style ponchos.
Whitney Newman posted the photo saying, "It's hard to put into words how disappointing it is to see our elected sheriff use his own front yard to mock and dehumanize a group of people."
The post received hundreds of reactions and was shared over 250 times.

I think it is funny, but an elected official’s wife should not do his.
What’s the difference between an illegal alien and E.T? E.T learned how to speak English and wanted to go home.
Why not?
Either way, he's not much of a candidate for sheriff.
dehumanize?
To paraphrase Sigmund Freud, “Sometimes Halloween decorations are just Halloween decorations.”
Autopsies of “progressives” never find a ‘funny bone’. They are completely humorless.
They laugh only when grinding their high heels into Americans’ faces.
>> dehumanize?
Those look like human skeletons to me! And both ICE and the wetbacks have ‘em. Seems fair.
“Raise awareness”?! I doubt anybody in the US has been more aware of anything ever.
That’s an excerpt, and you didn’t flag it as such! Why didn’t you post the whole thing? In context, Mrs. Burch looks much less feckless...

However, Burch’s wife, Michelle Alfonso Burch, responded, saying that her family members are immigrants and the purpose of the decorations was to draw attention to the issues facing the country. She said her husband had nothing to do with the decorations, other than mowing the grass around them.
“Every year, I make tongue-in-cheek Halloween decorations with a topical theme at my home,” Michelle Alfonso Burch said in a statement. “I like decorating for Halloween and other holidays and rotate these decorations periodically.”
“My husband has nothing to do with these, other than mowing the grass around them,” she continued. “I made this one, playing both on my Cuban background and new, needed changes in federal immigration enforcement. My parents were legal immigrants, and I have plenty of immigrants throughout my family.”
“I’ll make a new one shortly – we have no shortage of topics to cover,” she added.
people need to relearn what a joke is
ridiculous. It is about as dehumanizing to depict a hispanic with a sombrero as a cowboy with a cowboy hat.
Is Whitney talking about the Mexican or the ICE agents?
Either way, not much of a poster.
Either Mrs. Burch wants a divorce, and is using emotional blackmail to negotiate better terms, or she wants her husband to lose (big!) in his re-election vote due next month.
The display is pretty funny, but it’s the connection to a location that jumped right out:
“Halloween decorations at the home of Mobile County Sheriff...”
Mobile County Sheriff’s Department
Address: 510 S Royal St, Mobile, AL 36603
It’s directly across from MARS (Modern American Recycling Services) and the dismantling of the SS United States.
>> Either Mrs. Burch wants a divorce, and is using emotional blackmail to negotiate better terms, or she wants her husband to lose (big!) in his re-election vote due next month.
False dichotomy. If you read the whole article, you may (as I did) come away thinking that she does NOT want a divorce and that she and her husband are well-enough known in their area that he will get re-elected handily.
Babble nonsense? This is writing, not speaking, anyway but I take it you're former law enforcement, or a cuck, to take offense and call that nonsense.
Show me the front lawn of any other law enforcement officer with Halloween decorations mocking criminals. Go ahead and be so "much of a poster" and show it.
An elected law enforcement official needs to be a lot smarter about using his front lawn to mock criminals, OR needs to have more of a spine to stop his wife from doing so.
