Conservative commentator Steven Crowder pulled a Michael Jordan a few days ago with a two-word proclamation plastered all over his YouTube and social media accounts.
"I'm back."
Crowder was referring to his exceedingly popular video series "Change My Mind," in which he would set up a table with a simple prompt urging the liberal student body to debate him on a simple topic.
Some of his more well-received topics include "There Are Only Two Genders" and "Hate Speech Isn't Real."
Recently, Crowder made the decision to eschew "Change My Mind" out of an abundance of caution due to the rising threat of leftist violence at his events.
However, after the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk last month, Crowder had a change of heart and decided to make a comeback.
The comeback didn't come without a few heightened safety regulations, though, and this video of every precaution Crowder had to go through for his return to college campuses is eye-opening, especially if you are unfamiliar with the kind of rhetoric and physical violence his crew has faced in the past.
This man had to put on Kevlar to go speak to college students. Think about that for just a moment.
We live in a country where free speech is embraced, so much so that it is literally the very first amendment in our constitution, yet a regular citizen has to armor up to engage with a bunch of 18–24-year-olds.
And the most ironic part of it all: his topic was about how violent the left has been in recent years.

Crowder is sort of obnoxious compared to Charlie Kirk. I’m hoping someone else will step in to fill the void.
Steven used to be a FReeper.
Sorry... if I have to armor-up to get my point across, the audience isn’t worth addressing.
Let them stew in their own vomit and diarrhea.
he was on AR15.com as well
Really? Cool!
I always liked Kirk better than Crowder. Kirk was the happy warrior; Crowder almost plays into the leftist stereotype of the, “angry white male.” Certainly white males do have plenty to be angry about, certainly post-Kirk, but IMHO, Charlie sold our brand better. Still, both of them have balls of tungsten to walk into harms’ way. Sadly it cost Kirk his life.
Kirk believed that he could reason with everybody. And that he could have a conversation with anyone.
Yep. Steven’s definitely a gun/second amendment guy.
Steven is the angrier version of Rush Limbaugh, he tries to use humor like Rush did, but Rush always had a happy nature to him.
I’ll take him over Shapiro
In the context of speaking to young people on campus, I’d take him over Shapiro, too.
I don't like him at all. I suspect he is now trying to capitalize on Charlie Kirk's death.........
Crowder was doing “Change My Mind” long before Kirk.
Reagan too. Maybe Crowder can learn from Reagan, Rush and Kirk. As with Reagan and Rush, what drove the left crazy was Kirk's effectiveness. He was reaching may of these students.
Just just the kind of person Steven is. I suspect maybe he can be jerk in real life, his show definitely suffered when Dave Landau left.
Steven used to be a FReeper.
You can always ping him ;-)
I’ve never seen him act obnoxiously when doing a Change My Mind debate.
He goes out of his way to be fair and respectful.
True, but then where did he go? Did he lose his audience?
Could it be due to his controversial divorce and alleged spousal abuse?
Sorry, but Crowder was no Charlie Kirk......
Spending a quarter of a million dollars on security to do a few short debates on a college campus for a day seems like an odd way to “capitalize” on anything.
