CNN's Jake Tapper confronted House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., on Wednesday about Medicaid funding for "noncitizens," as the Democratic lawmaker argued his party was trying to save healthcare.
Tapper asked Jeffries about the extension of Obamacare subsidies after the government shut down on Wednesday when Democrats and Republicans in the Senate failed to reach a spending agreement before the end of fiscal year 2025 on Sept. 30.
The CNN host said Republicans "characterize it as you want to give health insurance to undocumented immigrants. I understand that's not really an accurate depiction." Jeffries responded, "It's a lie."
"It's a lie, but what you support does bring back funding for emergency Medicaid to hospitals, some of which does pay for undocumented immigrants and people who don't have health insurance. And also, there is this provision, and it's not about undocumented immigrants. It's about people with asylum seekers and people with temporary protected status, et cetera, et cetera, but about their ability to get Medicaid. So they're noncitizens. They're not undocumented. They're not illegal. Why even include that in a bill, knowing that they're going to seize right upon that and use that to message? I understand that when you retake the House, you can get whatever you want passed, but at this point?" Tapper asked.
Jeffries insisted Democrats were fighting against the "largest" cut to Medicaid ever, pointing to the Republican-backed "big, beautiful bill."
"You're talking about the subsidies again, but I'm talking about the noncitizens," Tapper pushed back.
The House Minority leader argued again that Democrats were trying to save healthcare for 14 million Americans.
"Do you not think that the provisions that provide healthcare for noncitizens muddies that message?" Tapper pressed.

That was $185/month - for nothing at all in my case, for over 22 months.

It would be reasonable to prorate the premium by age, so a kid about a tenth my age would have a ~$19/month minimum premium.
Medical costs are a sore subject for Americans facing a medical need. To discover that non Americans are getting free medical treatment is a very sore subject. It does not matter that laws are complicated, voters like easy to understand topics. This is why Hakeem screamed “it’s a lie” repeatedly. He knew that no one would read a very complex bill written in lawyerese…. So he resorted to the KISS rule of politics even if it’s a lie…. 🤔 I saw what you did, using “ it’s a lie” to describe “it’s a lie”…. 🤣🤣🤣
POTUS Trump can ask the Congress to offer, with a congressional bill, to pay the mexican hospitals and doctors for the health insurance of the mexican illegal alien once they return to Mexico.
The medical care is cheaper in Mexico and the care is only for 6 months. The illegal alien must return to Mexico to receive the care.
I went without health insurance for about 30 years - October 1993 to October 1, 2023.

They have their own “insurance” in NJ, which is Medicaid funded.
It’s called NJ Family Care, costs illegals and poverty level nothing for the premium or copay. Illegal children are in no questions, adults they say need to be refugees or asylum seekers which pretty much describes all of them. It barely pays the practice anything for their services so it’s not too popular in the private world.

But the AFFORDABLE car Act was supposed to fix that.
Health care was going to be more affordable for the average person. The only people it was supposed to increase for were the people who had the “Caddilac” plans like ME!. Where I had a $20 copay for any Dr. visit. Where a trip to the ER was at most $100 out of pocket. Which cost me under $400/month.
Now, my Health insurance has gone up in price and I am on a high deductible plane($6500 annually). Where I put $500 a month in addition to the $600 premium into a Health Savings Account. Then pay for doctor visits out of there.
So, SORRY, the Dems/GOPe LIED To you all again. SUCKERS!
I did. I read the Dim CR, 331 pages of OBBB and the tax code in reference to Obama care subsidies. SURPRISE! The democrats are lying! Their CR Specifically Strikes Every single provision of the OBBB With respect to healthcare. It literally repeals the entire section Of the OBBB. They also propose to change the tax code Increasing subsidies for obamacare To include even people who are making in excess of 400% of the poverty level. This change would return the subsidy To where Biden put it After covid plus some.
The CR Also Restores billions of dollars of junk programs That were taken out or not funded With the OBBB.

I’m OK with treating illegal aliens in critical need at a hospital, but after their condition has been stabilized, deport them immediately.
However, “critical need” would have to be monitored/supervised, else a far-left hospital would turn it into a permanent housing project with 3 meals/day provided.
