Has anyone heard of the Amish rebuilding effort in hurricane-ravaged North Carolina?
The report now, from citizen-photojournalist Matt Van Swol is that they have completed the last tiny home for the thousands of victims in the western part of the state, whose entire homes were destroyed or washed away in the ravages of Hurricane Helene last year.
🚨#BREAKING: The Amish have confirmed they have completed their very last tiny home for Western North Carolina victims of Hurricane Helene.
This final tiny home is being delivered today to David Hostetter, a Vietnam veteran who lost his home in the storm.

He also made this video on their great act of charity last July:
For months, the Amish have quietly rebuilt Western North Carolina— they're STILL HERE, volunteering since November of last year.
It's an epic, rarely told story.
This video of them singing a-cappella hymns after building tiny homes is so beautiful...

What an exquisite act of charity, the work of their own hands and talents, working together, giving of themselves, putting themselves last, to help restore housing for their fellow Americans -- and doing it for months and months, with no recognition. The tiny homes are a marvelously practical solution that residents can live in and expand and upgrade as they rebuild their lives and communities, a sight better than FEMA trailers as well. Unlike the government, which threw roadblock after roadblock to reconstruction (although North Carolina was not as bad as California), the Amish just quietly got the job done, in record time, and in a way that should be studied by all first responders.
It was a great achievement, done out of love for their fellow Americans.

I remember a news story or two about the Amish rebuilding effort there.
But, unfortunately, hurricane-ravaged North Carolina has not received very much attention from the media because Biden was in office then. If a Republican had been president, the press would never have stopped talking about NC.
**May the Lord continue to bless em....**
Congress had to come up with legislation excusing them from taking part in certain aspects of American life. It’s like protectorate status. Could they survive in Europe or amongst muslims? Conflicts in Europe are a way of life. It’s like Franklin Graham saying the lion will lie down with lamb. Naive.
And all the AMISH BASHING that takes place here.
You should all be ashamed!!!
Methinks someone needs to clue you in on the sarcasm involved there.

This is very “nice” of them, but they’re motives are WRONG!
This will not get them to heaven. They see this as “works”.
Ephesians 2:8 NIV
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
Amish, Mennonites, etc. are just familial cults with strange religious (I won’t say “Christian”) beliefs.
“The Amish are a conservative Christian group within Anabaptism who differ from mainstream Christianity through their emphasis on extreme separation from the world, nonresistance, adult baptism, and strict adherence to unwritten community rules (the Ordnung). They are distinguished by their rejection of most modern technology, pacifism, distinctive simple dress, communal living, and their approach to salvation through community and works rather than a single moment of conversion. “
In other words they are NOT “SAVED” children of God no matter what “nice” works they do.
Yes, a “thank you” from the President seems safe. Hmmm...maybe not, that would put a target on their backs, given how the Left are.

Judgment day will occur when each person dies. God will be the judge.
I recall when my wife and I were volunteering to help with the 1993 floods that inundated large parts of Des Moines, IA, it was the Salvation Army who quickly showed up and delivered meals to the volunteers and were passing out clean up kits to residents with flooded homes while the Red Cross was busy with press conferences telling what they were going to do. There are many faith based groups who respond to disasters and seek no recognition for their charitable work. Our country is very blessed to have Christian faith groups who will do this work. I don’t recall any Muslim charities responding like this in time of disaster.
Your proof that the amish are not christian is pretty lame.
I agree that people are saved by grace and not by works. Works rarther are susposed to be the fruit of a saved soul not the saving mechanism itself.
Your proof that the are unsaved is not something objective but rather what you yourself have imputed on them.
What you have suggested more than anything else is that you are envious and embarrrassed by their work.
After all, you shall know them by their fruits. Have you built a house for a stranger?
First answer that question before you hit back at me with your excellent reformed arguments.

I do believe the nation should know it was Christians who helped the flood victims when the Democrats and the Biden administration refused to.
Samaritan’s Purse is also on scene providing mobile homes, rebuilding damaged homes, AND building new homes for the victims.
Is attributing motive to people you don’t know “Christian”?
Have you ever conversed with Amish or Mennonite people, or did you just find some information on a website somewhere?
Romans 14:4.
There are still many homes that are destroyed or inaccessible.
I STILL MARVEL AT KAMALA SENDING THEM ELECTRIC CHAIN SAWS-—BY PARACHUTE.
