With the push of a button, the 540’ cooling tower in Hartsville, TN, safely came down this morning. The iconic structure was removed to make the Hartsville site safer and ready for tomorrow’s potential opportunities. ⚡🏗️

Its a lot more entertaining when you do that yourself.
It’s amazing that they can do a ‘controlled’ demo in the first place. Had anything gone wrong, it would have tilted and debris could have gone places where it could have been fatal..............

Looked like a perfectly good and able to be renovated hyperbolic natural draft power plant cooling tower to me. Someone should have built a power plant next to it.

Yeah, the plant is closed down for sure. Looks like they planned on 2, or even 4 units, and only completed one.
