Star Trek legend William Shatner was hospitalized for a medical emergency involving his blood sugar late Wednesday afternoon, sources with direct knowledge said.
Shatner, 94, who is beloved by Trekkies as the show's lead character Captain Kirk, is said to have experienced the health downturn while at his home in Los Angeles.
Insiders say that when the issue occurred, he called the emergency services and a Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance arrived on the scene.
He was purportedly taken to a local hospital for evaluation, and is now 'resting comfortably' and doing 'good,' the sources informed TMZ.
Shatner still has multiple acting projects in the pipeline and appears at fan events, including a panel at Dragon Con in Atlanta only last month.
Daily Mail has reached out to his representative for comment.

He uswd to go to a small town in upper ny to celebrwte his birthday with fans at a small star trek shop there. Ticondaroga is the town. He was scheduled to be there this year too.
I didn’t have a high opinion after his wife drowned.
But I have been watching him on “The Unexplained” and he has almost won me back as a fan.
I hope his wife’s demise just looks bad and that he wasn’t involved.
Yep thats the place. Wonder why he goes there for his birthday? Such a small town, and kind of a scummy town really. Lots of drug issues and poverty and crime there from waht ive been told. Had a murder there a few years ago-, was a lretty weird case- remember reading about it
Was it a mystery like the natalie wood drowning?
Shatner's visit was a two-day event for fans to celebrate his 90th birthday, which was delayed from March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Y3ah ive been to the fort ti- quite a place. Also went up on a hill that overlooked the fort znd lake, stunning views from up there.
The fort was pretty cool. They put on demonstrations like the cannon firing- that was something, efen thougn just a reenactment and no ammo used. Was easy to envision the soldiers firing down on invading attzckers from that vantage point. The hil, that overlooked the area also had canons.
Saw a documentary on the fort- was really interesting. The whole place is well worth a visit if in the area. They have pretty cool grounds surrounding the fort too with a massive elaborate garden walk through with loads of exotic flowers, meticulously maintained for visitors. It was a very pleasant day spent there.
Good shot!
Prayers sent for William Shatner.
There is this thing called the Internet where you can look things up.
I always thought his parents missed a perfectly excusable chance to use “Tiberius”.
Shatner posted on X that this was fake news. He is fine and posting on X today
I was 5 years old and I had butterflies at the sight of both of them. I still say they were both my boyfriends. My best friend and I almost got in a fist fight a few years ago. She said she saw Captain Kirk first.
My reaction was where’s the middle name of Tiberius?
🥰👍
