Is it better to shower in the morning or at night?
BBC ^ | Sept 21, 2025 | Jasmin Fox-Skelly

Some people prefer to shower in the morning, others in the evening. Who is doing it the right way?

In this increasingly polarised world we live in, there is one question that perhaps divides us more than any other – do you shower first thing in the morning, or last thing at night? Or perhaps you are one of the 34% of the American population who do not shower daily.

Whichever camp you belong to, you may wonder what impact your choice has on your health.

There are benefits to both so I think the BBC is saying shower in the morning and at night. The enviro-scarcity crowd isn’t going to like that.

They encounter many customers.

Some customers are healthy: some are not.

My wife showers before bed. She says it relaxes her. I shower in the morning. If I shower at night I can’t sleep.

We can’t shower together because she has the water temperature ALL THE WAY over to hot. It would scald a normal person. She comes out looking like a boiled lobster…

A person should shower after work, sex and exercise.

I was thinking that maybe it’s the BBC trying to assimilate the new “Asians”, at least on hygiene.

“ Showering daily removes the bodies largest organ ( the skin) from doing its job. Removing skin oils removes your “ protective “ coating. Man survived thousands of years just fine with sponge baths. ”

Mike McConnel, a conservative Cincinnati host on WLW, said his boss told him there are only two kinds of jobs - one, where you shower when you get home after work, and another when you shower before going to work.

The article says it’s more important to change your bed linens frequently (???) than worry about when you shower. That’s where the grime and germs accumulate.

Install a whole house. charcoal filter. It removes chlorine. It will also make your coffee taste better if you
Use tap water to brew it

Since when has showering together been about showering?

Guys: Do you wash your hands before or after you pee?

Depends. Usually. But if it's a filthy public bathroom, then my dick is probably the cleanest thing in there, so no. (Not in the habit of pissing on my hands, so that's not a factor)

I’ve had people tell me that charcoal filters remove chlorine “taste,” not the chlorine itself.

There is chlorine and there is chloramine. Both need to be removed. I’m not sure which one has the taste.

Removing “skin oils” doesn’t prevent your skin from doing its job - keeping blood and organs inside. I’ve done fine with daily baths for...well, I’m on Medicare. Skin is fine. Organs and blood are all inside.

Man can survive with almost no bathing at all, but people sure start to stink soon. Or at least, those of us who spend a lot of time outdoors do.

A month? Lightweights- more like 3-4 months! If the bedding isnt crawling on its own, or growling, it doesnt need changing.

The question that divides us most, is which way to hang toilet paper. I have had 3 people turn my toilet paper around. I now have 2 rolls on my wall;one each way.

“Is it better to shower in the morning or at night?”

Seems to me it depends on whether you smell worse in the AM or PM.
