Rest in Peace, Bobby................
Died in his sleep in his home. Lucky guy.
Not necessarily a lib loon. He did not exclusively support dimocrat causes or candidates. He did have his own ideas that may not match mine or yours. We do the same.
This is the fourth time he's died today.
Redford ✝️
Ordinary People was some great work.
Just reading today, I figured out I didn't like him for him, I didn't like him for his costars.
He seemed to come from that mid 70s Woody Allen/Barbra Streisand era, where practically every movie was unwatchable.
Redford favorites.
Little Fauss and Big Halsy
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Jeremiah Johnson
I never liked his acting. I always was turned off by a smug haughtiness in every roll he played. He never could turn it off. Oh well. RIP
My family used to go skiing in Park City every year from the 80s - 00s. Robert Redford absolutely destroyed that wonderful little town. I think the last time I went was around 2008. It was full of pompous asses. If I wanted that, I’d go to Vail or Aspen. Haven’t been back since.
Roy Hobbs R.I.P.
Loved a lot of the movies he made, The Sting, Butch and the Sundance Kid, Out of Africa, others. However, his politics sucked, and I did not like any of his left-leaning leanings.
Back around 2004 or 2005, my manager attended a pension financial conference, in I think Arizona. Redford was the guest speaker, and instead of talking about corporate pension related information, all he talked about was environmental issues. My manager said it was the biggest waste of his time and our corporate monies to send him there, that he had ever experienced.

The Sting
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Jeremiah Johnson
The Natural
Although he was a leftist believing in the climate change hoax, he made a LOT of very good movies.
My favorites...
“The Natural” - arguably the greatest baseball movie ever
“Three Days of the Condor” - the first political movie I liked
“All the President’s Men” - well written and not too anti-GOP thanks to Redford.
Don Drysdale and Redford were classmates at Van Nuys High Schools.
Redford mentioned that he and Drysdale were teammates on the baseball team, but it was shown Redford played tennis and not baseball.
Both played American Legion baseball in the area, so it is possible they played against each other.
“If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
They said the camera loved Redford. It was flat out impossible for the dude to look bad on film. He even lost out on roles for being too pretty.
His leftward tilt was mostly environmental causes. He bought up a whole mountain in UT so it wouldn’t get developed.
