Charlie Kirk built his public life around a conviction that ideas should be contested openly and fairly. He believed that rigorous debate was not only worth having, but essential to America’s survival as a free nation.
From the age of 18 to his death at 31, he carried that conviction into lecture halls, gymnasiums, and auditoriums across the country. On Sept. 10, while debating hot-button topics at Utah Valley University, Kirk was struck down by an assassin’s bullet.
The murderer, motivated by leftist politics, ended the life of a whiz-kid-turned-titan whose confidence in open dialogue made him a pop-cultural icon.
The tragedy marks more than the silencing of an activist with a global rock star’s fan base. It signals the death of an American tradition stretching from the founding fathers to live-streamers: the public debate as a civic ritual.
Kirk’s assassination brings that pastime to its apocalyptic conclusion. Non-leftists — whether Christian super-conservatives (such as Charlie), walked-away Democrats (who may have won 2024 for Trump), Rockefeller Republican populists (like me), or anyone else — must accept that open debate with the left has become not merely unproductive, but dangerous.
Kirk, of course, was no ordinary political figure. He co-founded Turning Point USA in 2012, channeling youthful energy into a national organization dedicated to conservative activism on college campuses. In an environment where leftist orthodoxy dominated, his new group stood as an unapologetic counterweight. Before Barack Obama’s presidency had ended, Kirk was a familiar face on campuses nationwide, braving hostile audiences to make the conservative case directly to young people.

Every liberal politician , liberal group, Democratic party member should be asked to condemn these left-wing extremist groups. In a manner they tried with President Trump and White nationalist .
And then these transgender, Antifa , leftist. extremist groups should be declared terrorist organizations, and rounded up.

They pretend to debate but they know that without hidden earpieces and disguised tablets they can’t complete a simple sentence.

I never heard of this guy or the Five-Point Forecast. And his article - which argue's Kirk's business model and values were a flop that must be discarded - doesn't make sense.
Yes. It takes a brave person to do it.
It takes no courage to stay home and be safe.
It also does not win you any converts.

The real “Democratic Party” died a long, long time ago. Their name was “politically appropriated” to facilitate a facade to hoodwink old-time previous supporters, the low-IQ, the great unwashed masses, etc.
Behind this “facade” stood the evil, rabid, domestic communist regime that we all are now seeing today: a godless group that is violent and hellbent on complete control, power and the destruction of the USA as we know it.
Trump, along with good folks like Charlie Kirk, literally ripped the mask of these communist basstids revealing them for what they truly are...and it ain’t pretty. Actually, it’s pretty darn scary.
And you’re correct: they’re not interested in civil discourse or participating in the political process. Instead, they want us dead; ALL of us. They want all power and complete control over every single element of humanity. There’s no debating and/or voting our way out of this. The real question should be: how is it to be stopped....and when?
I was going through my spam folder just now, which I do about once a week. Here there’s an email from Turning Point, dated September 9. In it, Charlie is asking for money, but he’s also detailing all the acts of violence he and his movement had been enduring in the past few months. Rather chilling.
I don’t think the author of this American Thinker piece is advocating surrender. He’s saying it’s pointless to debate with Communists. I think it’s critical to keep speaking though. One of the things we can do is to keep speaking, not to the Communists, but to the larger audience who aren’t hardcore Commies. Also, we can send Turning Point some money. They’re getting all these new people who want to speak, and that’s great, but they’re going to need to hire some security. When the leftists descend on the Turning Point speakers, we’ll be ready for them.
