I want to front load this post by making something abundantly clear. I am not complaining about my channel nor am I feeling sorry for myself. If you leave this post with that impression, that is something that you have projected onto me. There is a broader point that I am trying to make with this post.
This is a graph showing my daily subscriber count. Yesterday, I posted a video with some thoughts on the political assassination of Charlie Kirk. On the graph, you can see that the result (which I kind of expected) was a mass exodus of subscribers from the channel from the moment that I posted the video. In other words, people saw me express a point of view that didn’t perfectly line up with theirs and felt that nothing else that I’d ever say or show was worth their time.
This is the kind of thinking that we have to get away from. I am a Christian, but I have close friends who are atheists or who are opposite if me politically. We disagree on many fundamental issues regarding faith and politics but I can tell you that I would drop everything and go to them if they were in need and I could help. We can’t be afraid of ideas and opinions that differ from ours. We can disagree. We can debate. But at the end of the day, all of us are still image bearers of God. It was likely the dehumanization of Charlie Kirk that contributed to his death yesterday.

Thank you for posting this. Thought provoking, and not in a good way. We keep thinking, ‘well, it’s only a small, but rabid evil fringe over there in the Democrat party’. Is it? How many of these Democrats are just as evil as the worst of them, but smart enough to keep the mask on?

Yes, I am a subscriber to his channel and saw his Charlie video. It’s a shame he lost subscribers but we’re better off without those that celebrate cold-blooded murder.

However, if any friend or any associate cheers the death of family man Charlie Kirk, who was not harming anyone and utilizing his constitutional rights, I cannot be friends with that person any longer. I cannot do business with that person’s company any longer.
