A protester screamed '**** Charlie Kirk' as he drove through a candlelight vigil honoring the late conservative activist.
Hundreds of mourners gathered at the Idaho statehouse Wednesday to pay their respects to Kirk after he was shot dead by an unidentified assassin at Utah Valley University earlier that day.
But a massive brawl broke out at the event after a man riding past on a e-bike yelled out the expletive.
Kirk supporters knocked the man to the sidewalk, sending him curling into a ball, eyewitness video published by KIVI-TV shows.
The protester was apparently kicked and punched by the angry mob as they repeatedly shouted 'U-S-A! U-S-A!'
A woman could be heard pleading for the mob to stop, while others shouted 'get him!'
Boise Police officers stationed nearby eventually intervened and pulled the man to safety, before taking someone into custody. It is unclear if anyone has been charged in the incident.
Despite being pulled out of the chaos, the protester continued to try and antagonize the group.
He reportedly stood behind police shouting '**** you' and asking 'what happened to free speech?'
A mourner threw the man's question back in his face, yelling: 'What did happen to free speech? What happened to dialogue? What happened to discourse?'

We were sitting in a restaurant yesterday afternoon, TV behind me. My husband sees and mentions the attack on Poland, as I am searching for that on my phone, the news comes up about Charlie being shot. The events seemed simultaneous.

In the weeks after the Lincoln assassination, way out here in the Sierra Nevada foothills village of Grass Valley, a guy who publicly expressed happiness at Lincoln’s death was torn apart by a mob. There were other beatings and killings around the country.

I think around 4th or 5th grade I realized the stupidity of “duck and cover” drills. If there was a blast near enough to require ducking, the whole building was going to be blown to smithereens. But I just went along with the game.
