Free Republic is working good now. But yesterday and this morning I got a 'page not found' or something. Anyone know a specific reason for this?
Also I use to have an alternate spot to go to when FR wasn't working, but I forget which it was. Maybe facebook or Yahoo groups. What is a good current one that let's us converse about possible problems? I have 'Site outages' listed that are useful but prefer alternate blogs.
Who takes a little site like this down for 24+ hours for maintenance?

Jim Robinson: I'm sorry no word yet. John worked out all night. It sounded for a while there like he had it done but no it didn't work. He'll either get it done soon or fall over from exhaustion and then I'll be down some more. Sorry.

Actually, when it really was maintenance in the past, we were warned.
They do...on election night when Trump is winning...they don’t want anyone to see the circular firing squad.

I don’t know what caused the outage, but I was discombobulated yesterday without FreeRepublic!
Too many Ruzzia, Ruzzia, Ruzzia Threads taking up too much Bandwidth.
I was thinking the same ... it’s all of those dang marky mark Uke/ruzzia/pooty’s dying, again threads that caused the down time. 🤣

One used to be able to go to Drudge Report before Drudge become intolerable.
I agree—nobody would take a site down for maintenance without warning.
A day without FR is like a day - in this case nearly two - without any books to read....Glad it’s back!!!!

Facebook FR group does great in instances like this.
