Very cool map ... changes as the date changes.
Really cool map! Thanks for sharing that!
Where I live, peak will start happening in late October, right about the time we get back from our annual beach vacation.
The only tree we have in our front yard is a tulip poplar. It drops leaves daily already. I use the blower on the driveway, the walkway, and our deck and stairs to the backyard daily. Autumn is a beautiful season, but I have plenty of work every year with the leaves around here.
The prevailing winds bring all my neighbors’ leaves into my yard. Raking has become my least favorite outdoor chore. Still, I am grateful that we live on a beautiful piece of property with the best of both worlds, great neighbors in the front, and wildlife and privacy in the back.
That is a cool website, will be sharing. Thanks.
That is a really neat map! We have a long was to go up here - and with it so dry, I’m not sure WHAT the trees will do this season.
Nothing but HOT (high 80’s) and DRY for me until a week past tomorrow - then MAYBE some rain. I still haven’t mowed - I’m just ignoring it, and Beau says I’m not to mow past October 1st anyway, so I may be done for the season.
I have company coming the 23rd of October, so I have between now and then to get more work/cleaning done in the garden, but am waiting for cooler weather.
The ‘company’ is my Great Aunt Alice whose farm I stayed on during the summers as a kid. So many fond memories! She’s 90 this year and still sharp as a tack. She’s the one (along with my Grandma Anita) that instilled my love of gardening and farming and animals. Alice and her husband Don had the first ‘Organically Certified’ farm in Wisconsin. He was always cutting edge. ;) (Don is 92!)
