Canned salmon bones should not be a problem if you chew your food thoroughly. Thorough chewing means you will get more nutrition from you food.
Plus that canned salmon is so cooked I don’t even notice the bones, I do pick out the center spine sections.
They’re bigger than I thought they were. Good harvest!
I’ve used the ‘packets’ of salmon to make Salmon Dip fpr crackers. I’ve never had any problem with bones in the packet-style salmon.
Of course, there’s a lot LESS in a packet than in a can, so you’ll need more packets which would make the recipe more expensive.
I have an aversion to fish bones, too!
Usually they are all big. Just not enough rain. Next year I will water.
I wonder how well this recipe works with canned tuna or mackerel?
Tuna is a decidedly recognizable taste.
Thank you!
Im sure you know enough to be careful but I cant help but emphasize the point having watched the videos. A bunch of the stuff he says is nonsense and a number of the examples he shows are similar in appearance but different plants which could lead to problems.
I come from a Scandinavian/German family and
have never been able to eat pickled herring.
I love salmon but dislike salmon patties. Give me crab cakes!!!
Crab cakes.....oh yeah.
Your passports to Wisconsin have been suspended indefinitely.
You eat head cheese?
Of course. Sulze in all its forms and homemade knipp. I cant find anyone to make zungenblutwurst for me anymore without ordering at least an 80lb loaf.
When I was a kid we always had ‘Sausage Making Day’ with my Grandma. She was a pro at it, and it was so much fun. Everyone in the extended family came to help. Mostly we made bratwurst.
ENCHILADAS IN WHITE SAUCE / a little different

For some reason, I keep thinking today is Friday.
Spent the afternoon outside planting the 4 Helleborus. The ground is horrible with lots of rocks, brick & slate bits in the top couple of inches, then solid red clay. It took me until 7:51 PM to get those plants in the ground. They’re in 1/3 top soil, 1/3 compost, & 1/3 dirt from the hole (minus rocks, slate, roots, etc.
So this leaves (out of the original 15 things-to-plant) seven: 5 Rose of Sharon, 1 lilac & 1 rose bush. I might get done by Thanksgiving.
LOL! Slow and steady wins the race! :)
At some point, I think Microsoft killed the ability to turn updates off — probably in an update!
In any event, my Win 10 Pro computers give me no option in “Settings” to turn updates off - I can only delay them or their downloads.
Noted & Thanks!
Agreed. Just in the last month, in our late summer cool spell, did my garden finally “take off”, tho’ some plants in shaded spots that didn’t get too soggy (esp. those in pots) did “ok”.
Now, we are in drought, but the next several days look to be rainy.
