My conspiracy theory is that this whole logo thing is a red flag being used to divert attention away from the real needed change; reduce the number of stores and get down to the profitable ones, then sell off the real estate under the stores that close.

Revenue in dollars has been flat, which means the number of meals is down. There has been no real consolidation of that business segment for a while, and the competition is strong.

In effect, the party line is Cracker Barrel's customers are bad people. That is not a good business strategy.

Most locations are right off the interstate. So they are catering to customers who are traveling on a long road trip.

Plus some local regulars.

All they have to do is to offer a better dining option than McDonald's or a truck stop.

If you're traveling for 8 hours, you'll rather have a meal at Cracker Barrel.

From what I've searched, 40% of their customers are travelers.
