@RepThomasMassie
Our government should not have ownership in private companies. There are so many specific problems with an arrangement like this, but fundamentally, this is not who we are as a country.

" Our government should not have ownership in private companies."
But it's okay for Congressional members to have ownership or part ownership in private companies.

Look: I’m not 100% supportive of everything he does.
FAR from it.
But if this is another ‘Trumpism’ I CAN agree with the tactic of giving the dems fatigue with far too many targets to react to so that they pose a fractured opposition to the real topics...like mail in ballots.
So Massie can just put it back in his pants...

The US government didn’t take over Kaiser shipbuilding, Bethlehem Steel during World War II, Grumman aircraft, North American aircraft, Boeing. They didn’t take over General Motors or Ford. There was this kind of big national security thing from 1941 to about 1945…
I’d like to go through just one day without hearing some un-American thing happening in the name of “national security”.
Let’s say you decide you want to go into the chip business, but the US government owns the other chip manufacturing company. Do you think you’re getting a level playing field? Do you think the government won’t pass protective laws to protect the company that they owned from competition? This is straight up Mussolini bullshit. And demanding that Intel give a cut of the profits from every chip they sell overseas to the US government? That’s just straight up mafia

That too. Need to sell it off. Post office too. He’s already working on making Fannie and Freddie go public.

Massie is saying corporate welfare is better than citizens owning part of the corporation they give money to.

We’re already giving billions to Intel, for what?

For a country we paid that much into, we should own the whole thing.
