Trump knocks Zelensky for resisting ‘land swap’ with Russia

President Trump on Monday criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky over the leader’s resistance to cede territory to Russia, saying he disagrees “very, very severely” with Zelensky.

“I get along with Zelensky, but, you know, I disagree with what he’s done, very, very severely disagree. This is a war that should have never happened,” Trump told reporters at the White House, referring to Russia’s more than three-year war in Ukraine.

In an attempt to broker an end to the conflict, Trump announced Friday he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Aug. 15.

Trump has said the meeting will touch on some territorial swapping for “the betterment of both” countries, a proposal Zelensky on Saturday staunchly opposed.

“Of course, we will not give Russia any awards for what it has done. The Ukrainian people deserve peace,” he said, adding that “all partners” must understand peace and that “Ukrainians will not give their land to an occupier.”

Trump said he was perturbed by the Ukrainian leader’s resistance.

“I was a little bothered by the fact that Zelensky was saying, ‘Well, I have to get constitutional approval.’ I mean, he’s got approval to go into war and kill everybody, but he needs approval to do a land swap, because there’ll be some land swapping going on,” Trump said.

He added that the land swap will be “for the good of Ukraine,” before adding that a possible deal will also involve “some bad stuff for both” Kyiv and Moscow.

“So it’s good and there’s bad, but it’s very complex, because you have lines that are very uneven, and there’ll be some swapping, there’ll be some changes in land,” he said.

Georgia and Ukraine are the same. Georgia attacked Russia and lost in 2008, due to NATO promises. Ukraine was days or a week or two away from launching an offensive in Donbas when Russia preempted them in Jan 2022. Ukraine too had NATO misleading Ukraine in more ways than not.

Trump is not doing favors for Ukraine or the EUROPEANS. Trump needs to slay the deep state. Much of this meeting will result in Russian evidence against British, French, Ukraine and DNC-Deep State which Trump’s Doj needs. Normalize of US Russian ties forthcoming. Trump needs a lifeline to walk j away from the conflict leaving Ukraine for Russian satisfaction. Trump opposed Ukraine in NATO and he understood that using Ukraine against Russia was a gamble... which has failed.

The west is facing recession. This conflict is a drain. It is an embarrassment for western equipment.

The EU us no longer an economic competitor to the US, they were broke by NORDSTREAM.

EU needs Russian trade. They are screwed the nx 25 years.

Trump is digitizing currency. usd is in trouble.

Russia is winning the war FAST NOW. No significant concessions from Putin.

“Russia was the aggressor. The blood is on their hands.”

As in the Levant, no side has clean hands.

“Russia is winning the war FAST NOW. No significant concessions from Putin.”

The main goal should be an independent Ukraine retaining all the territory it now does, which Russia will want to be neutral, have no foreign forces, no long-range missiles or drones, no stealth aircraft or any nuclear enrichment or nuclear weapons development program.

Ukraine will need unlimited defensive means of its own: troops, tanks, anti-tank weapons, anti-aircraft weapons, tactical drones & missiles, mortars, Claymore mines, and artillery.

Ukraine will need weapons Ukraine can’t make itself and financial help from the EU to fund its defense. This funding might be based on Russian military funding, Russian conscription, placement of troop concentrations within 100km of the front lines, etc.

Land swaps are going to be complicated to negotiate.

The front lines as of a certain date (July 15th? - the first day of Trump’s 50?) should be in the first agreement.

Land swaps can wait.

That’s a good synopsis of the situation. But this thing is far from over, we have some serious Globohomos in France, UK, EU and USA who wish to see WWIII through to the end.

I dare to politely remind you that nobody was/is asking for your advice on who and where and what war to fight. As well as on anything else besides cockroach mating rituals….

This war is a result of our meddling in Ukraine. We fomented an illegal coup that setoff a civil war that lead to this war and endangered Russia's naval base in Crimea.

Another indication the 47 is going to sell out Ukraine to his best bud and so get his coveted Nobel Prize.

Ukraine's choices are either concede the annexed territory or lose everything east of the Dnieper river and possibly Odessa.

Russia is well on its way to breaking Ukrainian defense lines to the point it occupy most of the territory east of the Dnieper.

The only land Ukraine is getting back is land Russia now possesses that isn't part of annexed territory. And, it can possibly keep any part of the annexed territory west of the Dnieper.

This is a war that should have never happened

South Korea would have maintained a 600,000 man army in Ukraine with thousands of tanks and hundreds of F-15s to deter a likely Russian invasion before the war.

Obviously, Ukraine was dealing with corruption in the aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union. They did start to prepare themselves after the Russians seized Crimea in 2014. So that helped them to defend 80% of their territory.

Ukraine will have to trade land for a ceasefire. ... Or the war will continue.

Yep! And Putin still wants ALL of Ukraine.
