I've been in Phoenix when it was 118 around 2pm. Stepped out of the Tahoe to walk 2 blocks to a famed restaurant.
It's SCARY hot. Your body enters a near panic state quickly. Especially if you're in the sun.
Here in the Big Valley today it'll be 102 with 20% humidity. It gets worse. So, not bad.
Is it hot where you are?

It’s 82F in Central NH and the climate nuts are behaving like hot on August 8 is Trump’s fault.

Finally got warm this summer.
It’s been mild this year.
And 118 is hardly record breaking for that part of the country.

118 is not exceptional for Palm Springs.

I remember the first time I stepped off a plane in Phoenix on a business trip.
It was around this time of year.
I had no idea what the temperature was—but we had to walk out on the tarmac from that flight.
The only way I could describe it was that it felt like my entire body had been stuck in a wood stove.

And people keep moving to Phoenix in droves, because?????
If I chose Arizona it would be north in Prescott where it is always a lot cooler and less crowded than Phoenix.

I’m in Tucson. It’s 104 or so today and that’s noticeably cooler than yesterday or Wednesday.

Spokane is headed toward the upper 70s this afternoon.
Haven’t turned on the air conditioner this summer. Forecast says I will in a few days.

89 degrees and quite windy, which helps. Humidity is high, but the wind is helping. Just finished mowing the house yard. Took a number of breaks for water. It’s usually a 2 hour job with the zero-turn if I really hustle, but it took about 3 hours, today.
Rain on and off from Saturday through next Tuesday, so this was my only window of opportunity to git ‘er done. ;)

I have worked outside in the sun in Az in 115+ heat.
It's not really that bad.

a mere 94 degrees in L A’s San Fernando Valley. we had a mild July, pretty much in 80’s, so summer had to hit sooner or later. we’ll head back into high 80’s over next 4 - 5 days. August and September can be our hottest months.

We’ve been having 100, 101 days here in central FL, but the humidity is MUCH higher in the mid 80%s. Damn near feels like you can swim through the air when you walk outside.

I was outside driving around Phoenix and Scottsdale yesterday when it was 118. Really, once it gets past 105 it all feels the same. You don't want to be a construction worker, but otherwise most people around here don't pay that much attention to how hot it is.
Trust me: 118 degrees in Phoenix is way more comfortable than 90 degrees in Singapore. :)
