Insiders working on the sequels said that the budget for the following two entries in the franchise would likely be significantly higher, at over $100 million. The report revealed that the two movies are set to be filmed in Rome. Several other filming locations have been planned, including southern Italian towns of Altamura, Ginosa, Gravina, Laterza, and Matera.
can’t wait.
bttt
Wow. 🙏
Looking forward to them!
I have the BluRay/DVD of the Passion - and have watched it once.
I hope Jim Caviezel is included as he suffered during the filming of the original movie, and did a fantastic job.
Christian films have been improving dramatically in quality over the last few years.
If these come out in theaters, we’ll be going. We do whenever a faith based film comes out. At the very least, it sends a message to the corrupt, immoral left that not everyone wants to see their crap.
Very proud of Gibson for going against the Hollywood norms and making a picture that appeals to middle America. Great respect for the man.
Great news. Passion was a very impactful movie.
But the best Jesus film is The Gospel of John (2004). A high quality production, in which the Gospel itself is the script. No words added, none taken away.
See it for free on YouTube at the above link.
I also recommend Mel Gibson's Apocalypto. A great recreation of the Aztec's capital city.

I understand the timing, but six weeks is not enough space between sequels. Should rethink that.
Yuck I can’t stand Mel Gibson movies, excuses to be gory. Suggest the gore, don’t exaggerate it, gore porn. Mel is a sadist.
I remember seeing Passion of the Christ in the movie theater.
At the end, it was deathly quiet.
People walked out with tears in their eyes.
It was intense!
I won’t be going to a movie on Good Friday.
Why is it taking so long?
For many years my FR tagline was “Thanks, Mel. I needed that.”
Expectations will be so high for these films, I have no idea how Gibson will meet them. Prayers up for a successful effort as they have the potential to be evangelical works of staggering proportions.
HMMMmmm...
I wonder what THAT will look like?
