Oh, you're on of "those". None of the money would actually go to the moon. The money would go to scientists, engineers, manufacturing companies, miners, and so on. Those people would then buy homes, raise families, and buy groceries. Just like when Mercury/Gemini/Apollo were active.
If Tyson developed some manners he might make a good Physics101 teacher. I have no idea why he is touted as an expert. Probably because he is black.
The money went to scientists, engineers, and manufacturers who, in turn, bought homes, raised families, and bought groceries and cars. The money was not wasted. It supported lives well spent.
“This is unfair to the indigenous people of the moon.”
But what if we find out they’re white skinned! Like literally WHITE, not the creamy Caucasian white?
And to think there have been NO People of Color there for millions of years!!
I, for one, am appalled. Time to send 1/2 the Islam population on earth there for Diversity!!!
> It supported lives well spent. <
I won’t disagree. But I would prefer that the money be spent on things that are obviously practical. Disease research, repairing bridges, upgrading VA hospitals, etc.
Don’t get me wrong. Maybe some day spending billions to colonize the Moon will be a practical thing. But as long as it’s only a “maybe”, I’d spend the money somewhere else.
And that includes research into practical things.
I object to Musk declaring himself Emperor of Mars.
You saw what happened to the miners that were unknowingly destroying the silica based lifeforms eggs on the early episodes of the space documentary Star Trek…🙄
I loved that book!
The most condescending man in the world.

Yes, I used to have it in hardback, until I loaned it out and never got it back. Still have a paperback copy.
It would make a great sci-fi movie!..............
Breaking windows to employ glaziers is far more effective.
Not likely, you could only work at night...
You really don’t understand the value of research and science do you?
I’ll give you one specific example: Velcro was invented as part of the original Space Program. Does that seem like an insignificant development for you.?
Most of the computer systems in electronics made significant advances because of the Space Program. Does that all seem insignificant waste of money?
No, that wouldn't give the same returns. Glaziers do nothing to advance materials science, medical technology, communications, electronics, computing, physics, chemistry, or the imagination. They also add nothing to the human adventure.
You should start up a buggy whip factory, Uncle, and let the rest of us achieve.
“Adventure” at a trillion dollars a pop!
You spend your money and go to the moon to live.
Let me know when I can see you off. My life has been worth $250,000,000. I kept track.
What is the problem with that? All that money goes to working citizens. No such effort is ever a waste. Who are you, King John II of Portugal or Queen Isabella?
I’m the taxpayer funding this inanity. I have an opinion. I’ll vote my opinion and state it robustly in this public square.
I am Sovereign.
