Haven’t seen too many Sandler movies, but the ones I’ve seen were just awful.

The sequel to the beloved 1996 comedy, Happy Gilmore 2, premiered on Netflix, arriving nearly two decades after the original film hit theaters uhmmmm.....Someone ran out of fingers and toes when they were counting.

"Happy Gilmore 2" had the biggest U.S. opening weekend in Netflix history with 46.7 million views in three days.
This is money well spent for Netflix.

I have to admit I was skeptical but it’s an entertaining movie. Seeing Eminem getting eaten by allegators was pretty funny. For golf fans all the cameo’s were great.

The Bob Barker fight scene in the original was great.

I actually liked the movie. I don’t watch much tv at all but did like the original and was encouraged to watch the sequel by a couple friends that said it was good.

This partnership hints at evolving industry trends, where streaming giants compete for exclusive content by investing heavily in established stars. But the risk is that with the "established stars" getting all the monied roles, there won't be a generation under them to grow into characters that our grandkids will want to see.
Nothing against Sandler, but my grandkids won't want to see a 40 or 50 yr old man looking and acting like a kid.
Maybe we are looking at the seeds of their destruction?

Were did Adam Sandler vacation for this movie?
I have tried watching it several times and cannot finish the movie.

I’m not much of a fan of his humor, but he is a heck of a good businessman. He is surprisingly successful and seems like a really decent person within the entertainment business. He is no slouch.

Guy is not a bad dude it seems to me. If he can scam Netflix a huge payday - I'm fine with it.
I like his movies but will probably skip this one as I am not interested in decades old sentimental cash-grab sequels.

Who can explain Sandler’s success?! Hey, Jerry Lewis was wildly popular in France.

I watched this last week.
It isn’t going to win an Oscar for best picture. But it was fun.
If you have ever seen an Adam Sandler movie, you should know what to expect: Middle School Boy Humor.
Expecting it to be “Lawrence of Arabia” might be a bit misguided. LOL
To: dennisw
Sandler has the strangest and massively successful career, he must be some sort of Hollywood industry wizard.

Adam Sandler is pretty goofy but saw The Wedding Singer and was pleasantly surprised.

He had some funny skits on SNL and somehow rode that wave into movies and big paydays.
He's a bankable star, even if most of his acting is mediocre. Still $68M for a direct to video release. I prob won't watch it (refuse to pay for netflix), but good for him.
