The worst offenders in destroying hope that I have encountered are the church people who will be praying in tongues and jumping the pews for their friends, but will be quick to tell those who don’t have the right social standing that God will never answer their prayers, or that “God always makes you wait”.

If I understand your question, you want to know if P. Trump can remove John. Roberts as Chief Justice and appoint one of the other S.C. Justices, that is, not remove him from the SC just reassign him within the supreme court?
The Presidents power with respect to the SC extends only to nominating an SC Justice, in Roberts case, he was nominated to fill the specific position of Chief Justice of the SC. All the other power...of confirmation and removal (impeachment) lies with the Senate.
