The aliens are trying to get here for the Black Friday sales…
/
And they’re bringing us a book
” how to serve man “
,( twilight zone -)
Yeah they dumped their reched stench on us to deal with they better hope we don’t find them.
Hey, what’s the big idea, posting facts and spoiling all the fun?
At the object’s current velocity of 130,000 mph it takes 17,600 years to go one light year. The closest star to Earth (other than our sun) is Proxima Centauri, which is 4.24 light years from Earth and nowhere close to the direction that the object is coming from. The closest solar system on the object’s trajectory is probably several hundred thousand years away at its current velocity. So if it is the vanguard of an alien invasion fleet they sure are taking there time getting here.
Fuel is expensive all over................
Thank you, you do tell it right.
Official government numbers: https://science.nasa.gov/solar-system/comets/3i-atlas/
Speed = 61 km/sec
Closest approach to Earth = 1.8 AU
Perihelion = 1.4 AU (just in Mars orbit)
Coming from the direction of our galaxy center, Sagittarius
Comet average orbital speeds =17 to 25 km/s.

Does that mean that this thing is screaming by our sun compared to the average asteroid? or did I mix types of velocities (orbital speed vs something else)
And does this mean that this poor thing has already zipped by our galactic center and the big black hole?
We’ll be ready for them- we won’t go quietly into the good night…..
The UN? HA! They’ll be welcoming them with open arms, the democrats will be making preparations to register them to vote.
My favorite scene….!
“ About 70% of the speed of light (186,000 mph).”
The speed of light is 186,000 miles per SECOND.
Louis Farrakhan’s mother ship…
What a fun ride that movie is. I never tire of watching it!
Yes, everyone has noticed.
you are assuming that it did not slow down before it got into our detector range
Damn, that’s almost light speed.
How does an asteroid vote? It’s a rock in space; does it still vote straight Democrat?
Everybody in the theater cheered that scene.
