Literally out of all the sports there are, bullfighting is the one where you should never distract yourself by showing off during play. Or else, well, you could meet the fate of this Mexican bullfighter.

I lived in Spain, saw a lot of bull fights on TV. Never saw bulls in the ring with a matador that is in perfect shape (the caballeros on horses and picadors on foot but up its neck so it can’t lift its head) and DEFINITELY never saw two bulls on the ring. This was not on the matador.

I never thought much of bullfighting until I watched a film shot in ultrahd of bullfighters in Spain. They used a special camera that could capture their faces and bodies like you were standing next to them.

Barely controlled fear was quite clearly the dominant emotion.

I had a lot more respect for both the bullfighters and the 'sport' after that. The analogy with the Roman colosseum and Minoan bull dancing seems quite apt: a transformation of courage, dust and blood into art.

In the 1960s my parents won a free trip to Spain.

Part of the tour was a bullfight

The crowd was screaming “Ole!”

My mom from a tiny town in Texas was yelling

“Git yer butt over that fence, Boy!”

Watching that video, I get the idea that the second bull wasn’t in the “ring” initially and was released intentionally to harm the bullfighter.

Either it was some form of "running of the bulls" or bull number 2 shouldn't have been there. Wonder how the fellow came out of it.

Beautiful hit. Looked like an exhibition...I think when the bull is angry and trying to kill , he will go after the victim on the ground and bear down on him ...seemingly as if trying to grind the victim into the ground.

Saw that at a pro rodeo event when the clown got picked up by the bulls horns then the bull went into the fallen clown,,,big time. Clown got carted off into an ambulance..

Yeah. It’s set up in the parking lot of the drug store. So not a proper bullfight. Just an exhibition gone wrong.
